Instead we just sat on our hands (when we don't have enough cap room for 10 drafted players anyways), and drafted a non-premium position player where in teh past we've had success finding guys in the 5th round and beyond. The casual fan outrage might actually be warranted this time.

Eh, we took Elgton Jenkins at #44 and no one should be complaining about that.

Had a hole on o line. I like the pick. Bahk could be back earlier than expected. O line then looks like this when healthy bahk elgton rookie one of last year's rookies and billy turner.

But we don't have anyone at center. I think Jenkins and Turner can handle the outside for now

I would have thought Patrick would slide to center and Runyan would plug in at guard. Don’t really trust Turner at tackle.

I knew Myers was big but didn't realize how big. 6'5 is a big center. Like it.

Yeah I was shocked it wasn't Davis, Meinerz, or Greene.

But again they said the same thing when we drafted Jenkins over players like Deiter and Mccoy.

Just because a player is lesser hyped by the media doesn't mean he is a bad pick.

I like that he is 6'5"/315.

I love that he is more durable than most of the other offensive lineman in the draft. He is known as durable and reliable and that's what you need at center.

AFC scout: “I like him. He’s got size. He’s a technician. He knows how to turn guys. Good with his snaps. Loves the game of football. He gets knocked back every once in a while but, all in all, he’s a good prospect.”

AFC scout: “He’s played guard longer than he has center. Really high character. Can get kind of upright and straight-legged. At the end of the day, he does everything right. He doesn’t necessarily look pretty doing it, but he’s going to be a good, steady player. He can play any of the interior spots. He’s a really good third-round pick.”

AFC scout: “He’s just a try-hard guy. He played high. Didn’t use his hands well. He got pushed around. Sixth/seventh round.”

NFC scout: “He’s got turf toe. He will be a starter. The center position is smart, tough, reliable, and he’s all of those things. He’s a solid player across the board. No flash to him, but he’ll be a reliable player. Probably fifth round.”

NFC scout: “Very limited. Slow. Not flexible at all. Top-heavy. Limited-type backup.”

NFC scout: “He can play guard or center.”

AFC scout: “He’s better than (Ohio State’s) Wyatt Davis. He can be a starter.”

NFC scout: “I see him as a starting center. Strong.”
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

PFN write up

Positives

Explosive blocker at the pivot who displays terrific strength in his game. Fires off the snap, turns defenders from the line, and keeps his feet moving. Gets movement run blocking, fires out to the second level, and seals linebackers from the action. Anchors in pass protection, gets a shoulder on defenders, and takes them from their angles of attack. Effective with the shotgun snap. Effectively quarterbacks the offensive line.

Negatives

Stiff and doesn't play like a nimble or overly athletic blocker. Struggles to adjust.

Analysis

Myers was a terrific center for Ohio State and comes with growth potential. While he's effective at the second level, I do not project him as a pure zone-blocking lineman. However, Myers could be a longtime starter in the NFL in the proper system.

If Myers can come in and immediately be an All-Pro level guard that can switch over to Tackle? Sure.

Just watch Gute interview and I think an OL coach talk about Myers. Holy ****, I thought that OL coach was going to cry he was so happy. Definitely a packer people add. That won’t say it but they expect him to start somewhere on the interior
