I like him and think he's a definite 1st round pick, in the 18-22 range I guess.

Nothing against him, it's just a matter of simply having better players ahead.

For instance, the difference between him and Sengun is somewhat considerable, IMHO.

Just a comparison between similar playstyles & production.

Sengun is going to be a top 10 pick though.

huh? i highly doubt Petrusev is a 1st rounder unless a team just falls in love with him, more like a mid 2nd round guy, he's developed nicely in the last year but he was pretty bad at Gonzaga the year before, doesn't really project as a starter either way.

same of the names yall are throwing out are odd, these are the scenarios who we should target:

if we get 4/5...order of preference should be:

Cade (if we can't trade Wiseman) - likely to be gone
Mobley (if we can trade Wiseman, he's #1) - likely to be gone
Suggs
Green
Kuminga

if we get 6/7...order of preference should be:

Springer
Moody

at 13 we have two options, if we stay put, order of preference should be:

J Johnson
Keon
Wagner
Barnes

if we trade down to say, Houston's #20 and #26, order of preference should be:

any of the above that falls
Butler
Giddey
Kai Jones
Boston Jr.

these are essentially the only names people should be throwing out at this point for the Warriors in terms of talent, fit, playing in the next 3-4 year window as well as providing a bridge to the next gen.

later targets include guys like:

wing - Scottie Lewis, Kessler Edwards, Julian Champagnie

point forward - Trendon Watford

guard - Deuce McBride, Malcolm Cazalon, Ochai Agbaji

big - Yoan Makoundou, Balsa Kopravica, Ariel Hukporti

Well, that's what I wrote above, saying the difference between Petrusev & Sengun is not small.

I actually believe Sengun is somewhat underrated by the "internet consensus" right now... he's definitely a top 10 talent, maybe even higher.

Just a hugely productive player, relative to his age, and with so much potential to improve, plus his playstyle has become a trend in the NBA nowadays. If he came along 20 years ago, he'd be labeled a tweener.

Let's see if the consensus is going to catch up with this (my opinion, yours, etc) in the coming months leading up to the draft.

The median outcome I see for Petrusev is a good bench player, with potential for a bit of improvement in the coming years. I think that's good for a pick in the 18/22 range in this draft.

Plus, as much as he sucked at Gonzaga, he had a very good improvement curve in this current season, in a better league than the NCAA also. That surely points the arrow up for his potential in the tier above (NBA).

If he ends up drafted in this range, or if goes in the early 2nd round, it's all relative IMO... I mean, we here from the comfort of our couches don't know jack about what goes on behind the curtains in the draft; could be the case, as I'm surely have happened before, of agents directing him to be drafted under a certain situation which they think could suit him better. The key, for these players, is to be put in a team which could develop them and, hopefully, have an open path for them to get minutes earlier on.

I feel like sengun has valunciunias vibes but with more upside.

Sengun is not Valanciunas...his ceiling is probably somewhere around Kevin Love if everything goes right for him and his shot continues to develop and he takes care of his body, but really that's the high end outcome

From my point of view, Sengun is more similar to Pau Gasol and Domantas Sabonis than Valanciunas.

Sengun can play in the high post, is more agile and nimble, and has better passing skills than Valanciunas, at their respective ages.

Valanciunas is more of an old-school, traditional king of big, where Sengun mixes brute force with finesse.

I can see sabonis. Sabonis is probably a better comp.

Moody is interesting but a SG who shot under 36% from college 3 range concerns me. Springer I like a lot, he does a bit of everything and he might even be available at our own pick, after Minnesota's.

Current top 10... changing often...

1. Jalen Green
2. Jalen Suggs
3. Cade Cunningham
4. Evan Mobley
5. Jonathan Kuminga
6. Jalen Johnson
7. James Bouknight
8. Alperen Sengun
9. Scottie Barnes
10. Jaden Springer

What's your argument for Suggs over Cade? Just curious

It's so close, they are both amazing.

Edge to Suggs right now because I just like how he matches up athletically to guards he will be defending compared to Cade matching up athletically to wings he will be defending. Also just love Suggs energy and enthusiasm he plays with. Not to say Cade doesn't play with passion or motor, just that Suggs I notice it more often.

Again though, come draft day if we randomly had the 1st pick, Cade would be in the mix and maybe my favorite by that time (even if its currently Green).

Harper Jr started off hot, but cooled a ton as the season went on... still, a good choice in the early 2nd round.

If Wolves pick falls out of top 3 (hopefully 4th that falls into our laps), Jalen Green.. no questions asked. He has a complete game on both sides. Just needs to get stronger within time, develop a great work ethic and attitude to work on his game and get better, and his game needs to be consistent. In the G-League, watching him blow by defenders and relentlessly attack the rim no matter how big or strong the 4 or 5 is (Generally, how he operates during games).. he reminds me of.. Kobe.

And with other other 1st round pick, I'd say we need to some help (upgrade?) in the frontcourt. I'd go with either Franz Wagner (Michigan) and Jalen Johnson (Duke). Both are 19 years old, 6'9" SF/PF, can play point forward, and both are defensive players (Wagner was nominated for DOYP in Big Ten). Their shooting is a work in progress, but if they can play defense and do the little things that matter to begin their pro careers, I'm okay with that.

yeah, Jalen is the dream pick for sure. I wonder if some player might jump up the big board and have Kuminga fall out of the top 5 somehow.

So with the Lakers winning tonight I believe that cements that the Warriors will keep their own FRP and OKC will get the Minny 2nd round pick in the TPE/Oubre trade.
