I don't think that was the plan.
No way that was the plan. The mad scramble makes it a tough shot, but with 9 seconds left, you have to drive the ball and draw a foul or get a layup.

He made the right play. It was pretty much wide open. I think Beal panicked some, but weird that Russ didn't have the ball there considering the night he was having and that's he's more of a clutch player. In fact, had the best clutch shooting stats in the league last I checked.
I think Neto panicked. All he had to do was drive towards the hoop and the path was clear for a few feet, and a easy mid range shot. Its something he can make. Instead, Neto was going by the script and passed the ball back to Beal. After Beal dribbled the ball off his feet, he was already discombobulated.
I don't understand what you expect from either player. Neto is a role player. He's not paid to take last-second shots or drives. He made the play to the freakin' leading scorer in the league! He didn't pass the ball to Alex Len or Daniel Gafford at the three-point line. Beal was open and maybe he didn't know how much time was left on the clock because he fumbled the ball. But he missed an open shot. It happens.

Love the guy but that part still perplexes me.

You could literally see Brooks yelling out the plan to leave him with 20 seconds on the clock. The guy is a 40% 3pt shooter.

It's no crime to be not as clutch as Doncic. Who is? So while the sting remains, I can't be upset at the team or the effort.

They are 6-34 from 3.

Finney-Smith missed all 5 of his 3 point attempts. Of course, he made the huge one against the Wiz. I really don't have a problem with the way Rui defended him on that killer 3 - he's not going to make that most of the time. Give him credit rather than blaming the Wiz on that one. Jeebus, that loss still stings.
