I don't care about the game. Tatum and Brown are all that matters.

AOS to Smart and his 4/14, and the costly ejection. Launching deep threes when he's ice cold, when we would have gone to the line with another foul.

I was watching the Blazers broadcast and they were talking like Portland over came bad officiating to win the game.

Re: Post-Game Notes: POR 129, BOS 119 (34-31)
Playing without Kemba Walker (strained oblique?) and apparently sitting Jabari Parker and Luke Kornet, the Celtics did not get the benefit of and 1's on many close in baskets, and they had some particularly egregious oversights (goaltending called in error) or simply no whistles on obvious contact by Portland while they got called for phantom fouls or phantom moving screens. Yet, I felt Stevens let this game slip away by overplaying two guys who were "off" (Brown & Smart) when Nesmith, Fournier and Pritch were ON FIRE. I would have closed the game from the middle of the 3rd quarter with Tatum, Rob Williams, Nesmith, Fournier and Pritch since these guys were all "in the zone". Thompson was off tonight, missing numerous tip in attempts and failing to grab the ball
at 3 key moments.
An alternative view:
Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)
+25 Evan Fournier (33 minutes)
+23 Jayson Tatum (37 minutes)
+18 Payton Pritchard (18 minutes) damn shame a very hot player didn't get more time and shots
+15.5 Aaron Nesmith (20 minutes) damn shame a very hot player didn't get more time and shots
+11 Rob WIlliams III (24 minutes) crime that he didn't get more minutes the way Thompson was playing tonight
+10 Marcus Smart (35 minutes) coaching blunder not to give Pritch some of these minutes, and 10 missed FG attempts
+7.5 Jaylen Brown (35 minutes) Nesmith deserved some of these minutes, and some of his 16 missed FG attempts
+2 Tristan Thompson (23 minutes)
+1 Romeo Langford (13 minutes)
Although the refs didn't help, I put this loss on Coach Stevens. And if you still don't get why, it's his failure to recognize what was going on TODAY and FAILURE to decisively act in a positive way to win the game.
Brown (16 missed FGs) and Smart (10 MISSED FGs) don't deserve to miss 26 shots on a night when :
11-19 FG Tatum including 4-5 from 3-point territory
8-10 FG Fournier including 5-7 from 3-point territory
6-7 FG Nesmith including 4-4 from 3-point territory
4-6 FG Pritch including 3-5 from 3-point territory
2-3 FG Rob Williams III
This is around the 8th time this season that Stevens lost a winnable game with poor decision making. The 5 guys listed immediately above (Tatum, Fournier, Nesmith, Pritch and Rob Williams) should have played from mid-way in the 3rd quarter until the end with a 2 minute rest for Tatum.

I'm a Brad fan but personally thought he ruined our momentum taking Nesmith and Pritchard off.

Blew an epic game by the bench and Fournier!!! Not sure we see that again for the rest of the season. C's might need to win out just to get to 6th place.

Re: Post-Game Notes: POR 129, BOS 119 (34-31)
It was a good game most of the time but it came down to what team was going to miss a bunch of shots first and it clearly wasn't going to be the blazers.
Nesmith Tatum and Fournier played well but I guess it doesn't really matter if the team lost.
Smart play good defense and pass the ball well but he was terrible offensively. I honestly don't know why Langford is getting minutes over Parker either. Langford is absolutely terrible offensive.
Some questionable calls but the team also started off slow which nine out of 10 times leads to losses.
Regardless at this point it's starting to look less and less likely this team is going to get out of the 6th 7th or 8th spot. Honestly it doesn't matter where the game ends up at this point because they're not getting out of the first round for the simple fact they can't stay healthy.

Brad with another disaster coaching job. Started TT (who was -20 tonight). Went away from the Nesmith, PP, Rob combo that was about the only thing that worked tonight.
Amazing this guy has the job security he has.
Now it's just pray the Jays are OK

Tristan was -20 in 23 minutes
Timelord was +13 in 24 minutes
Anyone can see that the offense runs much smoother with RW3 in there, yet Brad is somehow back to starting TT

Re: Post-Game Notes: POR 129, BOS 119 (34-31)
Tatum dropped 33 on 19 shots, which was great. The 5 assists were good, the turnovers and getting lost on defense a handful of times were less good lol.
Blazers basically took the ball out of his hands in the second half, and the offense had a hard time adjusting, himself included. The defense was bad almost across the board, and Jaylen is really struggling.
Hope the Jays are okay, I’m sure they are. Two days off before the next game, I’m not too worried.

AOS going to Sean Wright, Andy Nagy, and G. Petraitis.

I never heard about getting Ejected, on 1 Tech.
Am I missing something?
I think that the League is going to Overturn the Ejection.

I'm generally a Smart critic, but that ejection was bull.

Since this season is a wash anyways, I just laugh anymore how out "genius" coach will literally play any warm body he can to keep our second most impactful player on the bench as many mins as he can. I mean it's just like something out of a dystopian novel

At work so couldn't watch but occasionally checking the game stream it looked like they just didn't get the stops when needed. Pull within one or two and then let the Blazers score multiple times in a row. Seemed to happen a bit.
I really didn't like the way Brown played in the Spurs game and this was not just the poor shooting numbers. His game awareness/tunnel vision has been an issue recently, the box score indicates it might have been more of the same?
The Celtics look at their best when Tatum and Brown are scoring AND playmaking. Brown doesn't seem to be doing that at the moment.
