If the Lakers had an opportunity to get an impact player in Lowry on a win-now team with a 36 year old LeBron and didn’t take it, whoever was responsible for that decision should be fired.

Some of you Raps fans are insufferable. Lowry "the greatest raptor ever, legend" blah blah but instead of wanting him to retire in a Raps jersey you get butthurt and some how feel so entitled to other teams trading their assets for guy who has <3 years left in the league(which aren't guaranteed to be as productive due to age and wear/tear). Truly delusional.
I don’t understand the negativity in some of these responses. Your maturity level is very low. The OP wasn’t trolling and posed a legitimate question asking what you feel is a fair price tag for Lowry. A lot of Raptors fans by the way would like to see Lowry retire as a Raptor so there’s no rush to trade him for most of us.
I agree that for the Heat, adding Lowry wouldn’t do much to get them over the hump but I believe he could have greatly improved the chances of the 76ers and the Lakers.

Trade deadline was eons ago and you're making a thread to somehow ease your ego that teams didn't want to trade for you guy. Obviously you're not the only one with this sentiment, your fellow fans have been spouting the same bs since March. Don't like hostility then get off the internet snowflake.

To be fair the most realistic way the Sixers could even financially make the trade would be to have used Danny Green and Mike Scott's salaries and both of them are expiring. Anything on top of that in terms of draft picks or prospects like a Tyrese Maxey would not have been a negative asset IMO.
Of course it's also possible (but unlikely) that Seth Curry's salary could have been used instead of Mike Scott, but in that case Seth Curry is also a positive asset and something Toronto could certainly flip again. I seriously doubt he was part of the trade since he was and even after getting Lowry would still have been a big part of the rotation.
The question then would be did Toronto think they can get better assets in a Lowry S&T in the summer than the Sixers were offering after the salary wash of Green+Scott. If Toronto wanted Thybulle included I'm glad the Sixers passed. I think he's the special kind of defensive player that contending teams have for multi-year runs.

The butthurt negativity makes me believe you do regret it. Not sure why you're both coming in hostile to a genuine question. There were 3 teams mentioned in the title and you both zeroed in to your own.
If not the 2 others, what about Philly? It's discussion.

Re: Will the Lakers/Sixers/Heat regret not trading for Lowry?
Lakers are the only ones who might regret it. Lebron is 36. Lowry makes them extremely competitive against Brooklyn. Not willing to trade a mediocre prospect for him is silly and might come back to bite them in the ass.
Philly and Miami not trading for him is understandable. They are young-ish and aren't beating Brooklyn with or without Lowry. Although I would have liked to see Kyle and Jimmy playing on the same team finally.

Like others said, Philly & Miami likely aren't beating Nets with or without Kyle. Why gift the Raptors assets in the process? Both teams will be better off trying to improve in the off season

As a Sixers fan …. I think they will regret the Harden deal … a real difference maker. Once he went to Brooklyn it’s really, really tough.
And iirc, there were FRPs on top of Thybulle, plus a good role player in Green

Lowry is a sub-All-NBA player in his prime. This isn't James Harden we are talking about.
I don't think any of these teams are a Kyle Lowry away from joining the next tier of teams.

No use your brain, you Raps fans were all on social media, Twitter instagram etc calling heat morons for not trading Herro for Lowry a guy that's your all time player. So teams should regret not acquiring a guy who you should be happy is staying and potentially retiring a Raptor? Make it make sense. Once again hit dogs holler. The Warrior wrote:Eagle4 wrote:Stop projecting, no one is butthurt that they didn't trade their assets for a pricey 35 yr old guard on his way out. Simple.bon wrote:

I'll be awaiting the next or same Raps fan to quote me with more hollering.

Regrets about the road not taken will always be there, but the fact that 3 contenders tried and failed to get him says a lot about the asking price.

Heard that THT was the sticking point in a Lowry trade.
THT? , I saw him as a fringe nba player and possibly gets zero burn in championship run.

Only team that should regret it would be the Lakers. They're already old as dirt with LeBron at 36. Then your second best player in AD is arguably as injured as Porzingis. IMO the Sixers/Heat did right by standing pat although I would have liked him to go home to the Sixers since I like the core/squad more than the others. (Short/Long term)

Didn't you hear? THT has Brown/Tatum value. He's a star in the making. Honestly the Lakers package was straight up trash compared to the other two.

Lowry is still an all-star caliber guy and people ITT act like he’s a role player

Re: Will the Lakers/Sixers/Heat regret not trading for Lowry?
Lowry having a good game does nothing to change my opinion. We've got a pretty good idea of what Kyle Lowry is....
Regardless, I wanted the Sixers to trade for him, but the presumption is the cost was too high, and I trust Morey. Haven't really given it much thought since the deadline passed, but maybe it ends up being a regret if the Sixers look like they were a Kyle Lowry away in the playoffs.
Maybe they work out a S&T in the off-season.

What exactly about his post sounds like he regrets not trading him? That sounded more like a childish, "i know you are but what am I" response. You picked today after the game he had lastnight to say that? At least wait until he doesn't torch your team first.

Re: Will the Lakers/Sixers/Heat regret not trading for Lowry?
I would have liked to have Kyle Lowry on the Sixers. He would be a better fit in the starting lineup than Seth Curry. But I think Mattisse Thybulle is one of the best defensive players I've ever seen. He's going to develop into one of the best 3 and D guys in the league. When you factor in that they would have had to add Danny Green AND draft picks...I'm not giving all that up for a playoff run with Lowry. You fill one hole and create two.
