I don’t understand why people don’t get it.

We are not tanking for a top 3 pick, per say. We are tanking so we don’t fall from 5 to 7. Finishing bottom 3 would almost guarantee a top 5 pick.

I dont think there is much difference between 5 and 7 in this draft. What matters is getting into top 4. Look at last year, do we even care about Okoro, Okongwu and Hayes ? They are less impactful than Mo Wagner right now.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Almost sounds like when the draft leveled off and we picked Sabonis with the 11th pick. Then Siakam, Levert, and Brogdon were picked after that.

The flatten out remark happened in 2017 for what it's worth.

Weltman said it when the Magic traded away the 25th pick that year. Guys picked after that included Kyle Kuzma, Derrick White, Josh Hart, Dillon Brooks and Monte Morris.
I think I remember Hennigan making a similar comment that year. Something along the lines of getting the same kind of player later in the draft, and then drafted the center who had one bad arm.

A starting five of Anthony/Harris/Bacon/Wagner/Carter is not a recipie for "lot's of wins". Add to that that the Magic has essentially no bench, there will be a lot of games were the opponent second-unit puts the game out of reach.

..

I agree, but i was specifically talking about vs Detroit; our bottom-feeder competitors. I don't worry about other teams, but versus other tanking teams, it's a concern. if we can lose tonight, we *SHOULD* be ok rest of the season.

*no telling what new injuries other teams will have or how many will rest guys once playoff seeding is set.
I watched Detroit's last game and they're really bad. Jackson could legitimately the worse passer that I've ever seen.

Tonight is literally the most important game in the franchises history for quite a while. We lose tonight we should lose out and end up picking 2-5 (assuming we finish second worst in the NBA). If we win we could be picking anywhere in the top 9.

Factually false, in 2016 he was in charge for Toronto Raptors, and drafted OG Anunoby, witch is really nice pick.

Washington is 10-2 in its last 12 games with its only two losses coming in a 146-143 overtime loss to San Antonio and a 125-124 loss to Dallas. I cannot see the Bulls in the play-in

If Orlando loses to the Pistons, the Tank should lead to a lot of lottery balls. But a Magic win, Detroit can start buying their scratch-offs.

That is going to be a less than interesting game to watch other than the implications on two vs. three in the odds.

If we win we'll be tied for 6th with Cleveland and OKC, 1 place ahead of Chicago.

the pick would go to top 3 protected .then 2-2nds...not unprotected...i think better to get pick when you can ..this yr is best to add what ever needed to move to top 5 from say 8..me i would offer the denver or next bulls pick to get in top 5 now

I would rather have Bulls 10th 2022 pick than 7th 2021 pick.
Simply not talented enough draft to be worth mid lottery pick.

If the Bulls stay at 7 we have a 68% chance of the pick conveying this year.

If the Magic win tonight, the 2nd worst record is pretty much out of the question.

But if they lose tonight, 2nd worst is very much in play.
