That’s all well and good but we all know that (1) Chili Davis is a damn good hitting coach, and (2) he’s being scapegoated for Rojas’s lousy job so far. The hitting/pitching coaches always go before the manager.

We should just fire Rojas now and hire Showalter now before the Yankees do.

1. you can’t call someone a good hitting coach when all his teams have been dead last in risp, he’s been fired 3 times for the same reason, and he’s never been able to holdhis job for more than 2 seasons — there’s a reason for it.

2. the mets would always ask analytical guys for advice, never chili because he was clueless

3. mets gave chili a chance to adapt but he refused, chili refused to provide the game plan analytics provide, mcneil the other week saying they didn’t know garrett richards had that type of stuff was a knock on chili

4. in a time where every player is going for homeruns, chili is having them try string 2-3 singles against pitchers with a 92 mph slider LOL

5. red sox and cubs offense got way better once he was canned

Of course. Don't all pitchers get this at some point these days? Probably better that he got it now than later in his career. At least we know that we'll have to make provisions while he rehabs from this. Allen will be even better when he comes back, especially mechanically.

he's still 3 levels behind but also at the same time he's having that type of start that usually ends up in a faster callup

This kid has really filled out. Has he shot up in height and weight in recent years?

With him and Baty both slotted for 3B, we may have a bit of a conundrum at some point. What say you guys?
