Umm, I actually thought he was good the first time around as well.

He has obviously improved to great this time around

His 3 point shooting was pretty terrible in 16-17. But he pretty much improved each year since.

He played incredibly selfishly, refused to shoot 3's, and played horrendous defense his first time around as a Knick. His assist% was the lowest of his career up to that point.

He's had a Julius level transformation in this second go-round. Rose is a different player. His mentality is better.

He went AWOL. People forget he had the trial going on, he never wanted to be traded in the first place, our culture absolutely sucked back then. Big difference now.

Rose wasn't here mentally the first time around. He looked miserable and played as such. He had a lot going on and that Knicks team had issues as well.

Its a totally different feel this time. Not even just with his play...Rose is a completley different player body language wise. The chemistry, atmosphere, "culture", etc is completely different. You can see Rose playing with a different bounce to his step and he looks really happy. Cracking smiles and jokes with Clyde.

A lot that happens on the court is contagious and you can see the team taking on a personality as a hole...forming an identity. Culture ... It's been beautiful to watch.

The greatest thing to see from this team is the amount of smiles on the court. Past teams, even last year's team, always looked like they'd rather be anywhere else most of the time. These guys are genuinely happy to be playing together.

Is it not strictly based on record? We've been in the lottery for so long that I forget how the back half of the draft works

You were rooting for Welo Rose.

Probably. But I saw the diamond in the rough. :D Rose was still attacking the basketball well and his BBIQ has always been good. But his 3-point shoot was really bad back then.

But, hey, we're living in the present and future looks bright! 8-) And kudos to Rose for continuing to work hard on his game. I love the way he's playing right now.

i share joy in the present with you, my brother. you just using your rose colored glasses to look for flowers in the past that ain't there. even rose says he was all wrong in NY the first time and sees this as an opportunity to redeem his reputation (based on his play and behavior).
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

You know Rose came a couple of free throws short of a ncaa championship and an ACL at the wrong time short of a NBA championship run. This guy aint young anymore. I see him playing with everything he's got coming up and I don't think we've seen that yet. It's not about next year guys. This is our run.
On another note Ja Morant looks like he got lost on Steve Francis Boulevard. He kinda looks like garbage.

Stephen A Smith is an embarrassment to Knicks fans. He represents the low IQ heat of the moment bandwagon fairweather clowns. It's a joke watching him open first take today. I never watch that show and happened to switch to it. He's crowing like he's been down forever!! Fuq him!

Guessing you’re one of those guys who wanted to give Drummond a long term contract right?

No I wasn't. Drummond's numbers are empty calories.

JA Herbdande is a joke

Well in 99 we were coming off a shortened strike season. Takes a while to get some fans back after that. In ‘94 we had to compete with the trial of the century in OJ.

As in all things, context is key.
