AD won a ring. He's fulfilled his potential.

he had GOAT hype

Maybe from buffoons, sure, but not from people who actually watch basketball.

He is, much better goal scorer, similar playmaker.

Everyone listed AD in their top 5 last season.

I could see that because steph and KD were hurt. But with them playing top 5 is in concrete IMO

Lbj
Kd
Steph
Kawhi
Giannis

Your first 3 are concrete. Kawhi and Giannis not so much. I’d take Harden, Luka & Jokic over Kawhi. Probably Embiid too.

meh those guys haven't done anything to be ranked ahead of Kawhi at this point. Harden will never be better than him.

Neymar’s a clear top 3 player year in and year out. AD’s very good but he’s a half step down from that. LeBron, Giannis, Kawhi, and Steph have all been clearly better over the last 5 years.

I think it was his 3rd season where the hype was unreal

Yes. A lot better than Salah and tad better than Suarez.

Yea, nope.

Peak Suarez is easily better than peak Neymar. Not even a discussion to be had. Salah's first season at Liverpool is comparable to the best of Neymar's seasons.

Neymar is living on his name - obviously a very talented football player. But look at his career. He has no business being talked about as one of the all time greats or even a top-5 player in his generation.

Not at all no. Not even a top-10 player right now.

Neymar is among the few queens on the sport's chessboard. He's a brilliant playmaker, who was only overshadowed by arguably two of the five greatest players ever sharing his timeline.

AD isn't a dominant NBA player. He couldn't lead a team anywhere. He's arguably the greatest #2 option however. He's more Benzema than Neymar tbh.

Eh, not a good comparision. Benzema won LaLiga & single-handedly carried Real Madrid for 3 seasons after Cristiano left.

Since 2018-19 season (from April 2021)

Karim Benzema: 85 goals

Sergio Ramos (centre back): 28 goals

Gareth Bale (left Real Madrid in 2019): 17 goals

Casemiro (defensive midfielder): 15 goals

Marco Asensio: 15 goals

Vinícius Júnior: 15 goals

Luka Modric: 13 goals

Toni Kroos: 10 goals

Isco: 9 goals

Rodrygo: 8 goals

Mariano: 6 goals
