We'll see. He doesn't have a ton of leverage since he can't unretire and sign elsewhere. But if his threat to retire is truly real, then the Packers need to make something happen or this will hang over them for a long time - not just the lack of compensation for one of the best QBs ever, but also the blow to reputation and morale. I could see it turning into one of those franchise curse situations.

There are still enough teams that would both happily take Rodgers and have the means to trade for him that I think this could work. But if the Packers thought he would genuinely retire without a trade, I think we would have heard reports of offers being discussed, and the fact that hasn't happened yet makes me think the Packers do not believe Rodgers will retire.

This is going to be a very messy separation. Both sides have gone too far with each other to a point there is no going back. This marriage is over. Packer's GM is a total douch bag and **** and Rodgers is being a big spoiled rotten baby. Packers better make a trade and get some assets because I don't see Aaron budging one once to a point where I can see him take his football, go home and retire.

Watson for Rodgers!
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

he isnt going to retire, both competitive and financial standpoint. but disgruntled qbs never work so they are going to have to trade him.

AR has always come off as a little petty. I'd love to see him go to an AFC team. Denver seems like a good spot.

Adam Schefter outed himself today lol. Between the Wilson garbage he was spewing & now this omission, his reputation is down the drain.

He basically fabricated the Rodgers story. That it wasn't breaking news (last week). He reported on it during the draft for ratings only.

A lot of his reporting is pure speculation on his part (Wilson trade talk).

Could the retirement be a real possibility because of this?

If he gets $10 million a year to host jeopardy I can see a scenario where he chooses retirement.

As I had mentioned in the other thread. I believe he's made about a quarter of a Billion so far in salary. Not counting Ads, commercials etc..
