Completely Fake, but Fun 2021 Off-Season News Report Series: Gregg Popovich Retires

Post#1 » by NYG » Tue May 4, 2021 7:53 pm

Feel free to create your own as well, but I feel like throwing out a series where we throw out some ideas that aren't real, but just for fun we can kick it around.

I'll continue with this news report after the 2020-21 Season...

Gregg Popovich Plans To Retire

Who would be the next coach hired by San Antonio?

Budenholzer? Hammon? Udoka?

Hammon seems like a possibility. Enjoying this Completely Fake series, keep it up.

He doesn’t retire - he steps aside.

Coach Mike Kyzezewski.

Coach K makes his NBA debut with his USA team coach Pops on the bench.

Spurs having a open cap and all kinds of flexibility, the two legends recruit a super team. Heavy in Duke players no doubt.

She'd be a solid favorite, imo.

If Budenholzer gets let go in Milwaukee, then I could see Pop asking for his return to take over.

K should hang 'em up as well he's useless and has been for years

Saying one of the best coaches ever is useless coming from a random intent poster seems very disrespectful. Borderline trolling (in the overall sense of the word — not RGM sense). Just saying.

It's my opinion based on countless comments from Duke players over the years and those close to the situation that K as great as he once was is in fact a has been.
Pop could go on coaching but he wont and it wont have anything to do with losing his edge like K has

Not trolling. Well known that the game has largely passed Coach K by and he's not adjusted well. He gets by because he gets to recruit using the Duke brand, but that team has underperformed to its talent level for at least a decade.

Which is a much different and logical way of stating ones opinion on Coach K.

The use of useless is what was referenced.
