Yup. But magic number for the suns to clinch top 2 seed is now down to 5.

No clue what to root for honestly. In a perfect world the Suns would avoid the Lakers and Clippers in the first two rounds, but in all likelihood will have to play one of them in round 2 if they get there. Big game of musical chairs.

I'm rooting for LAL to be in the play-in. I think we finish at 1. I think in the playin they would end up the 7 seed.

best case scenario:
1. Phoenix
2. Jazz
3. Clippers
4. Denver
5. Mavericks
6. Lakers
7. Trailblazers
8. Memphis/GS/SA

Phoenix, Jazz, Clippers, Dallas all win in round 1.

Phoenix beats Dallas. Jazz beat Clippers.

Phoenix sweeps Jazz.

I guess in terms of watching as much playoff ball as possible it matters where the chips fall, but in terms of seeing how good these guys are, they're gonna have to beat an LA team to come out of the west. So whether that's round 2 or 3 is kind of irrelevant.

Honestly I just hope they win the first round.

The Nuggets without Jamal Murray are not an scary team IMO, they are gonna lose against whoever they play in the first round.

Jokic is a tremendous player, but without Murray they have an OK roster but not good enough to win a playoff series against Lakers/Blazers or even Mavs (if Porzingis is healthy).

Yeah, I would be pretty happy with our season if we just win the first round in the playoffs. Successful season for sure.

If the playoffs started today, we'd get Portland (assuming they win their playin) and the LA teams would face each other. We also wouldn't have to play either until round 3 if we got there. That is most certainly the path we want.
We'd have Denver in round 2 and Ayton has done an OK job on Jokic in the past.

I really just do not want the Warriors with how Curry is shooting and scoring

Meh I get the fear and I'm sure curry would win a game or two by himself but of all the possible matchups GS plays the most bad players.

Honestly there's an argument for anyone in the play in mix to be a tough opponent. Memphis is deep and won't mind playing a physical drag out series. San Antonio has Pop and some dudes who can get hot. Portland has Dame and a good offense.

The west is good so no easy matchups. But if the suns are for real then they should beat any of these teams.

I was hoping they both lost, but that didn't work out. I would rather have LAL in the play in. I think it would piss off Lebron, and it would be kind of funny if they had to play two games to make the playoffs. :D

I really wished we picked up a tough big, to put a body on Jokic. Gasol was allowed to bully him around last night, and that seemed to rattle Jokic multiple times. I just don't see Ayton doing that, but I hope I am wrong. If not, I hope both Saric and Frank watched last night's game, and can disrupt Jokic.

Other than Ayton, I think Craig will be our best bet against him.

The most important metric is if Chris Paul wants to stay here. He's not gonna be fooled by an easy route to the conference finals. If we compete hard with an LA team, he has no reason to leave, he'd stay. Bring em on.

Yeah, that was my point. I want the Lakers or Clippers to eliminate the other. However, I do kind of think facing the Lakers before WCF is probably better as far as them getting it together with AD and Lebron back. I think I'm still more nervous about facing the Clippers in the playoffs because the Suns seem to struggle with them and just don't match up well. Then again, the Clippers are the Clippers and always find a way to **** it up.

Interesting tweet. At the time I'm posting it, 33.9% of 1,146 voters believe the Suns win the west. Highest percentage of all teams listed. Yes it's just a tweet, but I'm surprised by the results nonetheless.

Don’t know about anyone else but I’m not thrilled to play Steph Curry in the first round of what is the first playoff series for most of our rotation. No matter where suns end up in the seeding it’s gonna be tough.

Steph would will his team to a win or two but a seven game series is going to be hard to win. Unless Andrew Wiggins somehow steps up like he's never done before or Oubre comes back from injury and is more efficient than he's been all season, I just don't think that team has enough firepower.

I do agree overall that there's no easy match ups, only better matchups.

GSW can beat the Lakers in a play-in and no.1 seed would face them, that would be very Suns and also very Utah Jazz.

Magic number for a top 2 seed down to 4.
