What bothers me the most is this loss was because of a lack of effort

80% Harden would make 100% of a difference

Harden immediately makes everyone around him better. It's not even a question.

This team is an embarrassment right now. Nash with zero adjustments and watches the team get lit up 16-0.

I mean its just incredible how an NBA head coach can watch a 16-0 in the middle of the 4th quarter happen and decide that everything is ok. Like WTF? I can let it slide a bit in any other quarter, but that's inexcusable from him.

Can't wait to see this happen in the playoffs.

I know everyone will freak out but I'm still not worried.

If we actually put in effort we wouldn't get out rebounded 55-39.

We will figure it out. This team has no cohesion or chemistry still. Either get Harden back or start figuring things out.

I've defended Nash all year, but I put a lot of this on him tbh...Budenholzer constantly switching out players down the stretch for offense-defense substitutions. Nash sticks with the same group. Bucks are dominating us and extending their lead. Nash doesn't call any timeouts and continues to let them gash us with the weak defensive personnel out there. DJ was getting roasted again and was actively hurting us offensively, but he still kept him out there for extended stretches.

I'd also really like an explanation for why Claxton only played 5 minutes. Unless he aggravated something and didn't feel right, it doesn't make any sense. Especially in a game where we couldn't stop a nosebleed and kept giving up offensive rebounds, you'd think our best defensive big would have made a difference.

I can point to ugly, stagnant offense down the stretch, for which Durant is the culprit, and I can point to weak defense and effort from pretty much everyone, but the decision-making from Nash was just random. Like Bruce Brown gave us excellent minutes actually...why did he barely see the court until the 4th quarter? Now all of a sudden he's useful? We could have really used his defense and rebounding and energy throughout the game.

Really weak sauce performance from Nash imo, he's the Jester for sure, and I say that as someone that really doesn't think he's nearly as bad as most Nets fans seem to. But he was really bad tonight.

Durant was terrible in the 2nd half, particularly in the 4th Q and may have cost us the game.

However, this is KD were talking about. He will get back to normal. This won't keep happening.

BTW, might be a good idea to stay off the GB for a little while. There's gonna be hot takes galore lol.

Like, I realize that these are still just 2 games, on the road, against an excellent team. I also realize that we're not at full strength and are still pending the return of James Harden, so a lot of these stagnant offensive sets leading to TOs and awful shots won't happen as often (you would hope).

But remember, this was a team that was originally supposed to be built around just Kyrie and Durant. And this is how the team showed out against elite competition on the national stage. Disappointing.

The starters can't get a stop at all.

Opposing teams have their choice of undressing our defense with a single, solid screen to either Harris or Irving. It's an issue that needs addressing yesterday.

I don’t understand how we started this game with such a lackluster effort and actually tried at the end of the second quarter and then waited for the 4th. It’s pathetic and screams overconfidence when we haven’t proven anything yet. Iam worried. Wish Nash would show some friggin emotion on the sideline and get this team more engaged.

Well not sure what you can really do about it. They are defensive liabilities whenever they're out there. The hope is that they give you more on offense than they give up on defense. Kyrie did, Harris didn't.

Yall acting like we got blown out over these two games, when in reality, there were narrow wins that went into the final minute of the game. Obviously, its hugely disappointing to lose these two games to a contender but they're fully healthy, we weren't even close. If we're in a playoffs series against Bucks or Sixers with just KD & Kyrie, we're likely **** regardless anyways.

Well then you have to consider the players we had prior to the trade. With Levert, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince, a healthy Spencer Dinwiddie, do we win these past two games? I'd say yes.

Exactly. This team is not the same as the original.

We are basically the pre-Harden Nets sans Levert, Allen, Dinwiddie, Prince. No comparison.

Still, I would take us in a 7 game series over the Bucks or Sixers without Harden.

I know it sounds crazy after what we just watched but we will figure it out come the playoffs. I have faith.

Dinwiddie was struggling prior to getting hurt, so were Levert and Prince. Allen I'll give you...but I don't think he's a big improvement over Claxton and Griffin (Claxton should have played more imo, unless he didn't feel right and the coaching staff decided he needed to sit out for safety reasons).

Don't think we can really know how much of a difference they would have made over the guys that actually got the minutes. I think the "depth" of the supporting cast was overrated before, and underrated now.

Saw the game and we had no energy at the end. Durant still needs conditioning n can't play those long staggering minutes continuously imo.

Kyrie needs to be better setting up his teammates. Great scorer as usual.

Bench needs to do better.

Our athleticism weakness will be a big hindrance come playoff time
