Davis Bertans and Deni Avdija for Harrison Barnes
Davis Bertans and Deni Avdija for Harrison Barnes
Wizards upgrade their starting five and Barnes should blend in nicely in a Bryant/Rui/Barnes/Beal/Westbrook line-up.
The Kings add Bertans who is way overpaid, but can at the very least spread the floor. Avdija is the prize here though. He could hopefully develop into a role that fits more along the rest of the core's time-line than Barnes does.

Avdija's value is significantly higher than the difference between Barmes' amd Bertams'. the Wizarsd decline.

Bertans has actually turned it around a bit, and I don't see the value difference as a recent lotto pick.

Re: Davis Bertans and Deni Avdija for Harrison Barnes
I see no reason the Kings should trade the existing Harry Barnes for the maybe of Deni. Feels like a trivial yes for the Wiz and a trivial no for the Kings.

Seems fine for Sacramento but poor for Washington.

Wiz say no, Deni is going to be a stud in a couple years and is already a better defender than Barnes and Bertans is still a capable knock down shooter. His contract is reasonable and not at all overpaid whatsoever.

So Sacramento wasn't satisfied at just having the worst defense in the league this year, they're going for the worst All-time and trying not to be caught.

Re: Davis Bertans and Deni Avdija for Harrison Barnes
This seems off by a good lottery pick in the terms of value and even then, if Avdija were available this quickly in his development, that would be a major warning sign to anyone looking to pick him up that he's a bust.
Moreover, even if the value was reasonable, it's the wrong direction for the Wizards who need to develop talent not pick up overpaid journeymen. They aren't in the "fill one hole and compete for the title" part of their development.

Bertans is absolutely negative value at 15m for a guy who can only shoot 3s and isn't doing it at an elite level

Lol. Despite a slow start, Bertans has the same ORtg and TS as last year.
Over the last 31 games Bertans is has a ORtg/TS of 130 / 69%. Per 36, he is shooting 11+ 3PA at 45% rate... soooo
Do you think its coincidence that Bertans is in the top 15 over the last 3 years for his +/-?
Barnes is clearly the better player this year, but not sure if its an outlier or he's developed. Either way, We're not giving of Deni for the marginal difference.

Thats a good deal for a player of Bertans value. If you haven't noticed, players like Bertans are worth 15-20 Million/Annually.

I’m going to assume Xman is a Wizards fan but Harrison is the far superior all around player

No angle for that
Barnes is the far superior player and Davis has another year on his contract

Superior "all-around" players aren't necessarily superior players.
Steve Nash was a superior player to Russell Westbrook.

Duncan Robinson after this year.
Over the last 3 years the Wizards are +8.4 Points per 100 better with Bertans on the court than off the court. The team plays at a +3.4 Points per 100 possession with him on the court, which is around a 50-win pace with him and then around 30-win pace without him.

Yes, usually it does mean that. Because Bertans is a modicum better from outside doesn’t negate it

Good lottery pick would mean Avidja, who hasn’t shown much, is worth a great one as Barnes is the superior player with the superior contract
OP was the value most would place on the players in the trade aside from Wizards and Kings fans
