It still amazes me how fundamentally bad a defender KD is given his athleticism and physical tools. I remember laughing when everyone tried to say he should get DPOTY votes that first year in Golden State.

::Puts on Conspiracy hat.:: The NBA decided the Lakers winning the championship as a play-in would be better for ratings, and the future of TV contracts, so they told him to sit out and let Portland win the tie-breaker while Davis fakes another 2 injuries in a single game. ::Takes off Conspiracy hat.::

The league has a long history of magically having things happen that end up in the best ratings, just ignore the strange officiating, nothing to see there.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me all that much if those type of discussions occur. Hey LeBron, the league needs this right now, don't worry, we will make sure you win the play in game and it will make a great story of the Lakers being the first play in team and making it to the finals, think of your legacy!

We need to fly Jeff Crisp down from Indiana to mix this professionally.

If you guys think the league is dumb enough to do that, then I’ve got a bridge to sell you. They don’t openly plot conspiracies with star players fighting for playoff positioning.

I could've swore Brogdon was all supportive of him when he was first hired and threw shade at McMillan sort like "It's nice to be able to just play your way" or something like that.

Obviously an American professional sports league isn't in the business of outright "rigging" anything these days given how much money is invested, but NBA officials have always held much more sway in determining the outcome of games than in most other sports, and you're lying to yourself if you think that all superstars are getting an equally fair whistle.

Why because people have come out and given extremely specific examples and gone to jail for fixing games, those are all things that happened. But your theory is that all happened in the NBA, but the NBA didn't know it was happening?

I am probably the last person on this board to find out that the Hawks are almost touching HCA. In a totally non-shocking development, replacing a rando with an (slightly) above average NBA HC makes a difference.

Lakers Warriors would draw huge ratings. Selling a tv event is a part of why they did it in the first place and they couldn't ask for a better matchup.
