I'm not sure Love is cooked. I think he might be good in the Melo role. I sure don't want him to replace one of our top 3 players.

Love would make a ton of sense at the right price.. His shooting and passing would fit in well with the Blazers. You would use him as a small-ball C alongside a Little & Covington in the 2nd unit.
His defense isn't great, but motivated I suspect he's more of a neutral defender. He was better than you think if you look at his stats before Cleveland went into the tank.

Much like I was really liking the idea of LA returning to Portland, Love also peaked a similar interest to me... But that was at least two years ago, and both players declined sharply since then. If Love wanted to play for Portland, it could have happened years ago, but IMO, he seemed perfectly happy with just getting a monster payday, while playing for a non-winner in Cleveland.
The Love boat sailed years ago IMO.

Celtics fan here. Would you guys consider this deal?
Blazers in: Marcus Smart + Evan Fournier (signed and traded to the Blazers)
Celtics in: CJ McCollum
Let's say Fournier signs a 3-year contract for a total of $66 million (or something along these lines).

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

We would take Smart but not Fournier. Lillard, CJ, Nurk, Powell, RoCo, and Collins are off the table in a trade for Smart. That leaves DJJ, if he opts in, and maybe something else.
If the player you were dreaming of getting is off the table, too bad. That's why most trades don't happen. They die in the dustbin of dumb ideas.
