Would you guy trade the 1st overall pick for two top 5 picks in this draft?
Like the 3rd pick along with the 4th or 5th?

Would you rather have Luka or Trey Young and some other guys. Not to say Cade is on Luka's level but you have to be careful choosing quantity over quality.

So basically Cade vs one of Suggs, Green, and Mobley plus the next best player? Probably not. And that's not a likely scenario anyway given that a LOT would have to happen before one team wound up with the 3rd and 4th or 5th pick anyway.

Honestly you’d be looking at Orlando with where their pick lands and the bulls pick. Or the Thunder with theirs and Houston’s pick.

If one pick was the 3rd overall, maybe. But either team would more likely offer say the 3rd with picks from future drafts.

It would be funny/frustrating to have so many people obsessed over draft positioning, only to luck into the 1st overall to turn around and do something like this.

Sixers probably without Embiid tonight and possibly without Harris and Simmons also.
Our starters should be: Plumlee/Grant/Bey/F.Jackson/Joseph

Would a combo of Keon Johnson and Mobley work? That would definitely put us in a top 10 defence and give us good depth and room to make some more deals.

I look at it from a standpoint of having a shot at a potentially generational player, that being Cade. Now, if it was a trading down a chance at Suggs, Green or Mobley to get any two of the next batch of players, i.e. trading #2 for #5 and #7? Absolutely.

Should the Pistons get the chance to draft Cunningham trading down shouldn't be discussed IMO. I think he gives us the best chance at building a winning team within two years.

I have no interest in trading down if we get any of the top 4 spots.

I do, if we still stay in the top 4 as part of the compensation. But the price would be sky high.

I think keeping the number 1 spot probably goes without saying. I cant' see us getting all that much trading down from 2 to 4.

I guess if there's a really specific player a team wants, but if there is, we're a relatively blank slate and WE should want said player too, odds are.

I’m not as high on Cade as some. I’d still pick him first, but I don’t see the big gap most other people do. Probably means I’m wrong, but so be it.

There are those on this board who wouldn’t pick him first, actually.

Yes, easily. You're talking about two of Green, Mobley and Suggs vs. Cade. I like Cade well enough but he's not a transcendent talent. I
I think he's the best fit of the top 4 but there's not a ton separating the top 4. No team would offer that for #1 anyway.

which team could possibly even get 2 top 5 picks? The thunder I guess, if Houston falls to 5 in the lottery and their own pick moves up.

So it would have to be the 5th pick + 2nd/3rd/4th for 1st

Would I do it? Probably not because Kuminga is too risky for me, if it was two top 4 picks I would do it

It will be tough till the end.

After those last 2 games against Grizzlies and Sixers, both on 2nd game of b2b, we'll play last 4 games at home against Bulls, Wolves, Nuggets and Heat, with Denver and Miami also on 2nd night of a b2b... Thank you NBA.

We're finally in the last week of the season, which ends Sunday.

Today is one of the biggest tank days remaining.

We've got Orlando vs Minnesota. Not sure who to route for here!
We've also got us playing against Chicago. This one feels like a very possible W for us.
We've got Cleveland playing Dallas, which seems like a certain loss for the Cavs.
We've got OKC playing Sacramento again, which I think OKC has a decent change to win.

At the end of the night these standings will certainly be different than they are right now.

team just has to keep their head down and... keep losing.

normally i wouldn't be too worried if we dropped one spot - our odds wouldn't change at all, there would just be the potential to draft 7th. but there are so many teams having similar records. if we did end up in a four way tie then we would split the odds evenly which wouldn't change our odds much but it could mean that we had the potential to draft like 10th, depending on how the tie breakers went.

example: orlando currently is tied with cleveland in the 5/6 slots so they have the same odds at the top four picks, but because they lost (they won it technically, but lost for draft purposes) the tie breaker then they have a 3.6% chance of dropping to 9th (0.1% chance of dropping to 10th). the thunder have the same amount of wins as those two teams but one more loss so they could definitely be in a three way tie, which means despite having the same record and same odds one team could be drafting 10th but another guaranteed to draft in the top 8.

with minny and us sitting a win behind those teams things could get REAL messy with a potential five-way tie. it would really suck to go from having a guaranteed top 6 pick if we finished second last to dealing with that whole mess.
