Good old days is making the playoffs 8 years in a row with multiple 50 win seasons and winning a championship. Being bottom feeders and hoping for a good draft pick is not what I consider as the good old days.

Maybe hitting in the lottery and hitting on that pick gets us closer to that goal once again ?

Unless you have some secret free agents who are singing here this summer ?

Where did I say anything about free agents or that we shouldn't worry about draft picks? I was saying that to me the "good old days" is when we're winning, not losing.

Good old days was a joke. Old heads/day ones/Nine Fivers will understand.

I just mean. I’m done with this season and I’m reading to scan the top portion of the draft like we use too pre 2012.

I get it, I've been browsing Realgm for almost 20 years now.

And I'm with you about the season. This is a write off season, just looking forward to the next. Will be interesting to see what moves are made in the offseason though. Not to mention if Masai stays or leaves.

Wizards are currently 4 games ahead of us. They have 5 games left, likely to go 2-3 (beat IND and CLE).

We have 5 games left. If we go 5-0, we would finish season 1 game behind Wizards, but we can tie Pacers and have tiebreaker and get into play-in.

Update:

After tonight's loss and Wizards win over Pacers:

Pacers are currently 4.5 games ahead of us. They have 5 games left, likely to go 1-4 (assuming they beat CLE).

Wizards are currently 5 games ahead of us. They have 4 games left. We cannot catch them.

We have 4 games left. If we go 4-0, and Pacers go 0-5, we can tie Pacers and have tiebreaker and get into play-in.

This thread is about play-in, so only looking at the play-in seeding (9 and 10).

I'm loving the new #7 pick odds. This will be exciting in its own way, ofcourse I'd also prefer that we're a 50 win team in the top 4 this year but since that's a pipe dream at this point, I'd take #7 excitement

The good old days is when a world health calamity doesn't nuke the entertainment industry and derail a sports addiction. The Bubble and Tampa are a blight on the sports memory landscape and was like watching scab players in a strike. This one is out, resting, missing for personal reasons. Would rather watch Jamerio Moon Skip and Snitch Raps at home with full house than empty barn with crowd soundtrack and every bit of incidental contact called as fouls like we were never champs.

Finishing 7th you can’t get a top 3 pick right ??

The highest we can move up is 4 ?

Nope. Ever since the league instituted the anti-tanking changes there are now 4 opportunities for all non playoff teams to move up via 4 independent draws for the first 4 spots. All with flatter odds than there used to be. We can move up to any one of the top 4 spots or if any above us move ahead we can move down.

Someone posted that, with the 7th slot, there’s an 80% chance we pick 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, or 8. I didn’t fact check that but it sounds right.

I’ll take it.

I thought NOP was 7th when they won the first pick in 2019 (Zion), MEM was 8th and they moved to 2nd overall (Ja)?

Did the rules changed since?

EDIT: Nevermind, I re-read your post, we're saying the same thing lol, thanks...

The latter Casey years were not the good old days. 50 wins and getting embarrassed in playoff games relegated to NBATV.

I wish 18/19 season was the routine but it appears to be the outlier.

Gearing up for the lottery, paging between draftexpress and nbadraft.net, actual prospects rather than d leaguers, euros and 2nd round guys I've never heard of.
I hope we can get some youth, athleticism and excitement going into next season.

COVID 19 is irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Why even bring up COVID on a discussion about the Raptors glory days? You can like bottom feeder Raptors teams all you like but the fact is, the last 8 years are the good old days for the Raptors. There is no room for discussion.
