Not sure if any of guys played it, but Super Mega Baseball 3 is one of the best sports games out right now IMO and the company just got bought out by EA Sports. It'll be interesting to see what EA does with the series/if they'll mess it up or take it to the next level.

Anybody here into photography/videography at all? I just picked up a Nikon Z6ii and it’s easily the most opulent gadget I own. Going to be shooting a documentary with it this summer and would love any tips if anyone has any expertise in the area.

EA ruins everything, so brace yourself.

I love photography, but have fallen out of it the past couple years and not been shooting or editing much. Work kind of took over and I just haven't prioritized it, and thus I'm behind on the newest technology.
This camera looks sick, though. My camera - Canon T2i - is 10 years old now, and I've been thinking about upgrading and picking the hobby back-up. Would also probably go mirrorless.
Don't have any tips to offer, but would be interested in hearing updates from you!

It’s definitely a time consuming and expensive hobby to prioritize. I find a lot of enjoyment in it though and am going to try make a career out of it in some form or fashion so I figured an upgrade was needed. Especially if I wanted to shoot 4K video.
I was shooting with a D3400 before and got great results from it, but so far this is just blowing every expectation I had out of the water. I’ll definitely keep you updated.

Costco brethren rise up! Got the same camera from there.

I haven’t shot anything in like 8 years, but have had little side projects for video editing recently that make me want to get a little more serious. That, and one of my friends that’s ~6 years younger than me said he’s got a “T3i as an antique decoration” in his apartment and it made me feel so old because that’s the camera I own.
I am curious if DSLRs are any better at video than when I was using one. I had an offer once to exclusively film and distribute some panels at PAX years ago but had to decline because they were well over an hour and my T3i capped at like 30min of continuous footage.

Tropical Freeze and Return of the Obra Dinn are some of my favorite OSTs.

There are some classics I love from the 8 bit (Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania 3) and 16 bit (Street Fighter 2, Castlevania 4, Actraiser) eras, but I'd be lying if I said my favorite wasn't the Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy.
Just beautiful.

What platform are you playing that on? I've been thinking of picking it up for the Switch.

Total nerd moment: got my new house’s switch panel working. Direct Ethernet connection in my office and I’m getting crisp 600mbps download speeds. I’m giddy with excitement.

PS4/PS5 for me. No idea how it is on the Switch but it's an excellent game.

Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
Finished my first Wasteland 3 play though. Gotta say, I don't like any of the endings you're able to get. I chose to side with the Patriarch since it would upset my team the least, and he seems like the canonical choice since the upcoming DLC features him. That said, I hated that **** and would have liked nothing more than to put a bullet in his head. So that's what I'mma do. Starting a new play through on a higher difficulty, but I'm not gonna recruit his sympathizers at all.

Look up the requirements for the "November Reigns" ending. I don't know if it's possible to accomplish that without spoiling some of it for you but that ending sounds like it could be more to your liking. Also, I remember reading that the DLC isn't really linked to any ending, it's more of like an area on the map that should've been part of the main campaign but it wasn't finished around launch.

Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
I'm pretty sad about the three guys leaving Giant Bomb, mainly Vinny and Alex. I didn't really keep up with video game news until about 2012 and from there on, Giant Bomb was essentially my only source for video game related content. Feels like when your favorite show/series comes to an end, going to take a while to get over this one.
The Bombcast and Beastcast pods were always my comfort food when I was tired of listening to sports podcasts, and now it's basically done.

I fell off two or so years ago from regular listening, but almost always listened to the GotY podcasts. Still, took this hard, they were the best at what they did. Sad it’s basically over.

This is how I felt with what has happened at Kotaku. I still go there daily, but they lost so many incredible writers and editors.

Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
This convo makes me feel really disconnected from VG writing and journalism.
The SMB3 comment yesterday reminded me that I had SMB2 on Steam and never really played it. Just played a game and seems like some good pick-up-and-play fun. Can see how this would be a pretty perfect pair for the Switch.
I've been replaying DQ11 the past week or so and it was just what I needed. I never got to the post-game - which is a huge part of the game - and decided to just start fresh to experience the story again, too. It's such a lovely game.

Yeah, there was around two years where Kotaku was very good, maybe the best, when they had both Patrick Klepek and Jason Schreier on their staff. Then slowly everyone left and there’s not a lot of reason to go there now. I find it real sad when they write articles about reports/scoops that are simply citing Schreier’s Bloomberg articles.

Yea, it's been gutted. The saddest, most pathetic thing is them re-publishing the podcasts Schreier, Hamilton, and Myers week after week. They did it for at least a year, I don't know if they're still doing it. I still go there for basic news and Kotaku tips. The reviews are good. But it's still a shell of what it was.

Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
I dipped my toes back into Apex and added another 15hrs to my play time. It’s been really making me question why I chased so many different games over the years to be a part of the “conversation” instead of playing a select few games that I legitimately enjoyed. I suppose my backlog isn’t so dense, but some games I really want to like, say Pillars of Eternity, look more and more like a chore to slog through for ~100hrs these days when I could spend that elsewhere.
