Great fit, but coming off injury and we’d have to determine the contract for 2022.
I had proposed something around JJJ earlier but after closer inspection he is certainly made of glass.

The focus needs to be coaching staff and finding quality veteran role players that fit the big 3 and system.
Use the draft pick and the young players as trade bait to get quality and the right veteran role players. Trade down in the draft.

You don’t trade a top three pick in a four person draft for role players. You just don’t. Especially when all three of Cade, Mobley, and Suggs provide skills this team needs.
I’m still not convinced our “big three” will ever be championship level, especially DLo.

Build properly around Edwards , Russell and Towns and let them prove themselves. It's time to stop looking for some teenager massiah that leads the franchise to the promise land. You win with 27 year olds and older.jpatrick wrote:twix2500 wrote:The Wolves have a quality big 3 in the making. Edwards, Towns and Russell. You got to let them fail or succeed multiple years.

Building properly around KAT, DLo and Edwards means keeping the pick. Full stop.

It really would depend on which pick we had.
I think there is a huge gap between 1 and 4. Likewise, a huge gap between 3 and 6.
I’m not saying anything about the value of Christian Wood, but HOU knows you don’t win without superstars, and you might find one with a top three pick.

This is where I’m at. The key is to get as much talent on the floor.
In addition, no one talks enough about the value of having very talented players on rookie scale deals. With so much salary (and flexibility) locked into max deals with Towns and DLo, I don’t think we should consider trading the pick for most gettable max deal guys, like John Collins, or many of the other names we see here. If you added Cade Cunningham, you may not be as good in Season 1 as adding a star, but your ceiling may be higher, and you greatly lengthened your window. The pick effectively has at least seven years of team control, and KAT isn’t going to ask off a team with Edwards and Cade.

Who is we? There has been zero buzz around the team that this seems to be the case.

We as fans. This whole forum is dedicated to hypotheticals...
There's been plenty of buzz on this forum about how DLO is a bad fit and will not lead us to be a playoff or championship team.

This is where I'm at as well...I don't expect to keep the pick...but if we buck the odds & keep a top 3 pick...that guy is going to be part of my core & it's Rosas job to get the right guy there. I don't see a super star becoming available. Take your rook & the rook contract & reallocate your other vet contracts as needed to continue to balance roster as needed.shrink wrote:SO_MONEY wrote:Building properly around KAT, DLo and Edwards means keeping the pick.
