Wow I'm surprised but really I shouldn't be surprised. Tre Mann makes the lottery in another mock, and earlier in the season he wasn't even on their board. People starting to come to their senses.

There are some people with original takes. For example, that Jerry Lucas guy is all in on Tre Mann.
There are some consensus guys I wouldn't mind the Raps picking as well. Even though I have Tre higher it isn't Tre or nothing for me.
Franz Wagner, Moses Moody, Ayo Dosunmu, James Bouknight and Jaden Springer would all be solid picks in our pick range as well.

Re: Draft Thread Part 2
For all the talk about Kuminga...
The most I see him "falling" is to 6-7.
The kid at one point before the year started was being questioned as a #1 overall. Tbh I still don't see him falling out the top 5 and in fact I won't be surprised if a team chooses him over Suggs.
I know people are lazily comparing him to Siakam (which his game actually doesn't resemble) or OG but his ceiling is higher than both of them. Kuminga is coming in FAR more skilled than either of them...Pascal (as 22 year old at that not 19) looked like a possible Amir replacement where we prayed he got a "Summer 3", he's blown away expectations with all the development we've done with him but he was basically an energy player that could run on fastbreak and had a few rudimentary moves around the post...OG was basically just a bigger PJ Tucker that could defend & hit a 3 but was seriously one of the clumiest players I've seen at the SF position lol but again we built him up.
Kuminga at 18 already looks to have as much as skill (if not more) than OG does now at 23-24 years old...just like the aforementioned names needs to work on cleaning up his shooting mechanics but the talent base to be a true all star SF is there.
I know development isn't linear but of course Kuminga obviously hasn't plateaud lol he's only going to get better and better and again go watch some footage he's already comparable skillwise (not shooting...yet) to OG. He's going to be a damn good player and if there's anywhere that I'd have trust to help him reach that potential its here. I'm sure many will flame but if we had the 4th pick and him & Suggs are on the board, personally I'm not 100% sure I'm taking JS...I genuinely believe here we'd turn him into a borderline all star type like Pascal...at minimum.
I don't rule out that it's possible maybe one (or two tops) of Barnes, Keon or JJohnson leapfrog him if they impress in the combine but I wouldn't. Really the only way he's gonna be an option here is if we're at #4 because when you look at since they changed the odds at least 2 non top 5 teams got into the top 4 so we're either getting him in the top 4 or praying one of Barnes, Keon or Jalen fall to 8-9 imo.

These guys have Moody at 6' 8". If that's true, he's a must have. But usually I see his height listed at 6' 6", which is kind of meh.

Which makes drafting Kuminga highly unlikely for the Raptors.
But most think that there's no way that a team takes Kuminga ahead of Cade, Evan, Suggs and Green so at best he's #5.
Right now Kuminga is Patrick Willams that didn't put up good numbers. With a deep top 4, Kuminga should go 6-10.
Many can see Barnes, Keon, Jalen Johnson, Mitchell and Moody jumping ahead of Kuminga. Heck some think Bouknight and 1 poster Tre Mann!
You definitely haven't read my takes closely enough, because Kuminga is 4th on my draft board and Tre Mann is 5th. I would never take Tre ahead of Kuminga.
Also Tre being a lotto prospect isn't unheard of now. He's been making more top 10 mocks recently and closer to the draft he's gonna make even more. I was just the first one who said he should be a top 5 pick, and still to this point the highest I've seen him ranked is 7th.

if Mobley can really develop his game into a poor man's AD type, it's a no brainer.. seems like the Raps can take anyone at the 5 and make them into something good (minus crap baynes)

he's a perfect fit on the raps.
Beside FVV? I guess 6'1 and 6'2 is slightly growing organically, compared to 6'0 and 6'1.
Utah is making it work with Conley and Mitchell but that's the exception, not the rule.
I guess the work that Mitchell did on Suggs helps with the evaluation.

I guess he looks like Kelly Oubre or Trevor Ariza out there. I could see him putting up 17-18ppg and having a 15 year career with above average defense.

I'd say Middleton is his high end upside.
He's one of the youngest players in the draft, he's not even 19 until later this month. For someone that young to post the kind of numbers he did is pretty impressive. He's also reported to be a solid kid who works hard which will play well with the Raps brass I think.

It's all about size and rim protection up front. Raps made it work last year with Marc and Serge. We had the second best defence. We left shooters open, but were able to close out on them quickly because the paint was protected.
Can't select D Mitchell unless C is well taken care of. And as an FA, I'm not sure Holmes has enough size to give us what we need.

I think Toronto loves its guards and unless they see a big facilitator wing that they love, I'd expect them to go small like the usually do. I like Mitchell, but I rank Springer ahead of him because he is bigger, four years younger and has a great background.

Do you think he has a real shot at being a wing? Having seen only highlights, something about him just screams rim-running big to me whereas OG has always done a great job defending guards, even in college.

[Wanted Giannis] Bruno, Delon, Jakob, Pascal, OG [wanted SGA] ... and then Malachi [wanted LaMelo] last year.
Don't really see a pattern there.

Kuminga? A rim running big? No way. He's a 3 primarily with size to play the 4 some times.

You're being far too generous; there is no way FVV is taller than 5'11".

Maybe I shouldn't have implied that they draft small. I just think their lineups call for two PGs both when starting or the bench line-up. That has been the case for a few years and I don't expect it to change.
Adding a further sense of urgency is Kyle possibly/likely leaving. This is like a repeat of last year when we thought FVV would leave. Toronto's gets a ton of its minutes from small guards and Malachi is likely not a starter. I am a little concerned about Gary Trent Jr. as a starter because he is a poor facilitator. Pascal has upped his usage but someone will need to fill in the Kyle minutes.

In theory all 3 of OG Kuminga & Pascal could all be on the court at the same time at the 2,3,4 spots. OG would guard the 2s and Pascal and Kuminga at the 3-4. If Rui is out there on the wings for Wash then Kuminga can be as well for us imo

Re: Draft Thread Part 2
I don't get the Mitchell hype. He's one of the oldest players in the draft and while his numbers are good they aren't great.
He's not tall and he doesn't have a great wingspan so he's limited to defending guards around his size. He doesn't get to the line. He couldn't shoot it until this year, which is a small sample.
Don't get me wrong, he's probably going to be a solid NBA player in the mold of a Patrick Beverley type, but as a top 7 or 8 pick? That's a no for me.
