“But I mean he’s been playing like this all year. I think he’s an MVP kind of candidate. He for sure should win most improved. What he’s doing got his team in the playoffs right now for a team who hasn’t been in the playoffs for a while. He’s playing his ass off and you can do nothing but respect it.”

FreeSpiritNY edited your post then posted it as my quote to slander my good name. Pretty pathetic tbh. He should have started in the draft thread. All the material he needed was in there.

Whooooaaaaaaaa - slow your roll.
We will be 4th or 5th. If the Wiz can beat the Hawks tonight we are almost definitely 4th - as we own the tie breaker - if not, we just have to win out; difficult but not impossible. I don't see the Heat beating the sixers and Bucs, so they will lose another game at least.
This humbled us, and I think that is where this team needs to be going into the playoffs: a hungry underdog.
I actually have more confidence in this team after this loss. It shook us up and we'll rebound.
Bad loss, but not the end of the world, and certainly no guarantee we'll end up in 6th.
Go Knicks!

With Mitch and Quickley this was a win!
Very encouraging... the only downside is Payton still playing! He shouldnt come of the bench yet alone to start!
Quickley / Rose
Barrett / Ntilikina
Bullock / Burks
Randle / Toppin / Knox
Robinson / Taj / Toppin

Yeh I agree. “Disgusting” is a stretch. I’m hurting too. We deserved tonight and we deserve to be the 4th seed as we (I believe) have been the 4th best team in the east this season.
Hurting bad but I would not use the words “absolutely disgusting”

I agree with both posts. If we take care of the next 3 games I believe we will be 4th. Miami is hot right now though.

Re: post game - that sucked
Even when we win this type of games it doesn't feel right. We are very shaky and scared tbh. D-Rose is the only closer this team has and he should be load managed in order to be available. And he is not because his competition is Elfrid goddamn Payton and Rose must play 20 minutes in a row so we don't get blown. Result - tired in clutch, and he is the only reliable.
Julius shouldn't be that mad at RJ. Of course Rj should give him the ball, but it happens. Randle had an excellent floater opportunity with tied game and less pressure. Everybody was expecting RJ to pass, this would either be a steal or the same difficult unbalanced shot. And Randle already missed a chance, so now it was up to the second guy option in the team. Nothing wrong with that.

Hopefully this is a game the team learns from considering it was a very playoff like game. Better to make adjustments now than in a playoff series. Hopefully Thibs isn't too hard headed to make adjustments to the rotation. I also noticed that most plays towards the end of the 4th were Randle iso plays. Teams will live with Randle taking tough shots all day. Randle has proved throughout the year he can make good passes out of doubles so I'm not too worried about this.
As for RJ and Bullock, they have had stretches all year where they disappeared then popped out of the slump doing work. Hopefully this is that type of situation. If not, then we have real problems on our hands.
The bad part we can't fix is that we continue to struggle against stronger big men. We don't have an answer for that at all. Not that Drummond singlehandedly killed us, but he hurt us a few times when it mattered most.
Also, no more playing Elf please! He's like the Herb Williams of the players. Just can't get rid of him.

I love thibs and sure if they secure that rebound they win, but that’s like a manager in baseball talking about the walkoff while the starting pitcher gives up 8 runs, like every time Payton starts 1st and 3rd quarters the Knicks have to play from behind.

7:21 and the **** still hurts. I know I’m being dramatic but that game broke me. So much so I wish they had a game tonight.

If this lost broke you I don't know what our future success will do to you. Part of the process. We are gonna have to go through a lot of this sheet.

Like the guy said no way was RJ going to be able to throw that lob over Drummond with Matthews waiting to pick it up. It was just a bad play. We needed to get the ball in Randle’s hands and we didn’t
Yea, there really wasn't anything RJ could do in that spot. As he mentioned, the play started before Bullock got to his spot and the play broke down from there.

Everyone sh*tting on Thibs and he has his faults, but this team wouldn't be within 20 games of a .500 record without him.
After every disappointing loss a cadre of "Great Hair Kenny" stans emerge to talk sh*t and air grievances.
Knicks would be playing about .380 ball with him, but maybe Knox, Obi and Frank would have minutes.
And I don't think the Knicks FO is under any illusions about this team. I mean, I hope they aren't, and are working their asses off trying to find that true 2nd option next to Randle and also a real PG so Roses knees don't explode next year and a little more depth in general.
But some of the fans are under the mistaken impression, it seems, that this team is going anywhere in the playoffs. Sold themselves on a dream that if maybe the Knicks hold onto 4th, they could get the Hawks and win a playoff round.
Well, that's the one team that they might win a round against. Other than that, everyone else they play they might not win a playoff game. And I'm not sure the Knicks beat the Hawks, but I really don't care.
I think most posters are happy the Knicks revamped their reputation, play good defense nearly every night, and built a semi decent base, but recognize the team is several players away from being a real playoff team.
Others raised their expectations all on their own, so they could be appropriately dashed.
Oh, and I've been saying all year RJ isn't really a 2nd option, but then he drops 20 and people go "SEE!"
Yeah, I see. I see he's about 3 years away from being a 2nd option. Which is fine. He's good; he's a good and willing defender. He has the right attitude and generally plays within the team concept. And he's cheap. He's a fine 3rd option. And he's 20. So he'll get better.
In the meanwhile, I hope they get LaVine, but I'd actually settle for DeRozan. Who is an actual effective threat to score when he wants against whoever, not situationally when the defense is goldilocks "just right" in his favor.
