Can you expound on this please? Last player I heard wanted to play here was Trae...

He was on social media recently talking about Orlando being 'his city' or something like that. He played at Montverde.

Yup. Everyone here had orgasms when Cade said it was "his" city but a lot were disgusted after Cole said the same thing. lol

How much more tanking can we do?

We are currently playing a group of players .... All of which prior to the trade dead line were 2nd ... Or 3rd stringers.... Or even yet.... Weren't even on a team. Ross... out for the season.... mcw... haven't heard his name to the point that I wonder if he's still on our team. Chuma out for the rest of the season. Not much you can to get worse. But the coaches and players that are still here are playing for their jobs and futures. Some of these players are trying to show they deserve minutes next year... Which could lead to trades in the off season of the more expensive players.... players are also auditioning for other teams if they aren't retained. Coaches are trying to figure out what they have going into the summer.

Do you think RJ is thinking... "Man... Lemme play worse so that the magic can get green.... And then I'm even deeper on the bench"... Nope it's... "Lemme show what I can do so that I can put my flag in the ground"

And if that leads to random wins .. so be it.

But yes... I would rather lose all games... In respectful manners. Lol

if you want me to be honest i could care less what the players are thinking....i'm a fan, i just want the team to be relevant again....i'm happy RJ and these young guys are on the team but real talk theres only so much i'm going to feel for these millionaires....i'm thinking about the long game and if we can shorten our rebuild and get back on track to relevancy.....the fastest way to do that is to get star talent.

ok.... so you're saying that if you were in a position to get a job that you wanted.... and all of a sudden there is a possibility that someone is gonna try and come in and take the position that you feel qualified for... you're gonna roll over and just roll out the red carpet? I don't think you would. You would cease every opportunity and do your best. And some players are just natural competitors. so... can't change that.

you see i think that's false equivalence....draft is a yearly occurrence you have a chance at losing your spot every year....a real 9-to-5 isn't going to hire my potential replacement just a year after i'm hired

Of course they would (and should)...unless you’re elite at what you do, you’re at risk of being replaced by the next option presented...and the guys playing at this point of the season are playing for their NBA lives...no one wants to be the slowest zebra in any organization.

yeah but they don't, not usually..... you get time to prove if you can do the job before they are looking to replace you in the real world....in the NBA it's year to year no matter how well you're doing or not they'll draft your position if it's best for the team.....it's the nature of the business

So.... then.... year to year.... you're always fighting for your position.... So why would you not do your best on a nightly basis ... because you're always being evaluated by not only the team you play for... but you're auditioning for other teams as well... for trades/free agency etc. And yes... i get it.... We think Green is going to be great.... but to be honest there are still no guarantees. If what we currently have is showing potential to be good to great.... you have to take a look at that. This isn't saying that i don't want a player such as green to be select ... I would love to add as much talent as possible... but not at the expense of the growth of others. It's not like you can be selective and turn off talent so that you can lose. As i've said... i would love all of our players to show promise while still losing... but if errant wins occur.... so be it.... such is life.

More than the second FRP from the Bulls, un-loading Aminu's contract in the Vučević really made this an interesting deal for Orlando.
(( but then why did the Magic absorb Harris in the Gordon trade nullifying the Aminu savings ??? ))

Probably because you can trade Harris and get a positive return while you need to attach a positive return with Aminu in order to trade him?

maybe it wasn't about the money but the player. For a young team, gotta have the right vets to influence the kids. Maybe Chief wasn't a good fit in that regard.

Mainly because Denver was over the cap, so the Magic had to take back near matching salary by sending out Gordon?

Chief also was almost never healthy for the team. Harris should at least contribute next year for us or another team if dealt.

Yeh I should read my own words. As I was basically stating "would I rather the Magic has Aminu or Harris?". That is a stupid question.

Ta.

This season averaged over 82 games would have been a 24-58 record. That is the second worst post Howard record just behind the only true tank season (that led to Oladipo).

We just witnessed the 7th worst-ever season by the Magic.

Aminu was a terrible fit for this team even before he suited up. Frankly this is the worst management move to date for me.

Orlando needed a back-up combo wing or a back-up SF. The team absolutely did not need yet another PF. And then we saw Aminu play and realised, yeh it's even worse than feared.

I guess this reveals how High the Magic is on Hampton, in the end.

TBF to the chief, coming into the league he was the prototypical SF/wing. Thats what I thought of him as well... until we signed him and i saw how he bulked up and slowed down lol

or how Magic had better trade on a table for Gordon last summer but Weltman & Hammond flat out failed.

if they took that deal they would still be able to draft Hampton (2020, 16# pick) and probably 18-22 pick in 2021.
