as usual w the garbage stats

Sorry but 20 pts on 19 shots
Meanwhile Morris has 15 on 8 shots, Kawhi has 16 on 9 shots.

Not going to cut it in the playoffs.

Anyway glad we got the win. Teams we play with limited offensive firepower are our best strength. Too bad a Hornets series would be over in 4 maybe 5.

Playoff rotations and defense will keep him limited or out of the rotation. 5-10mpg might be his max with Serge back tomorrow

Good defensive intensity
No Kennard, no Mann... with Ibaka coming back tomorrow, is Lue saying this is his ten man rotation (including Ibaka)?
I like Mann's energy, I like Kennard's shooting bursts... hate to see them get NO burn.

When he's right, we are a special team with Patrick Beverley. It will take a LOT for Ty to give up on him. He's just barely back from injury.

With Ibaka back we're already looking a 9-man playoff rotation with little time to whip them into a team. Mann and Kennard are panic buttons now.

As soon as PG gets out of his own head, hopefully he just does his job and stops trying to do anyone else's.

Mann is the furthest thing from a panic button. Bev looks awful. He should be getting 6-8 minutes MAX.

Demarcus with only 5 minutes is troubling, I'm sure even less when Ibaka comes back.

And this is exactly how Paul George plays, every year it's a new excuse. I wouldn't count on anything but his standard 5-15 for most of the playoff games this year.. if he does better we can all be pleasantly surprised.

Even though the team turned the switch on in the second half, the sloppy turnovers need to stop. Teams are going to make us pay in the playoffs with all these turnovers.

And I don't know about the shot distribution in this game. PG with 19 shots and Reggie with 15. Kawhi only had 9 shots, and Morris had 8. I mean the team still won, but I'd like to see a more even distribution of shots.

Scrubb looks nice, but I still like Yoga if in some major conundrum we need to add yet another guy to the rotation later.

Agreed on the turnovers, it's my biggest fear with the team. When even Rondo is getting 4 a game it's a major issue.

I know about the shot distribution. it's selfish. In no universe should Paul George be shooting the ball that much. IT's fine when we're up against a mediocre team like the Hornets, but by the 2nd round this will not work. Give the shots to Morris and not only will Paul's energy and TO's go down, he will have even more energy to get some great rebounds and even possibly assists. Cant' stand his bull-hogging, the total antithesis of how to win (since he never has).

Yes, I was shocked when Ty shut him down too. I think it's all mental--he's just not a match with our schemes on either end. Another panic button--there could be some match-ups where he could feast but looks like a no-go for solid rotation minutes if Ibaka can go.

35 minutes for Zubac tonight!! I'm sure Ibaka will get as many as he can handle in the last 2 games but Ty is all-in on Zu.

Nice to see PG warming up--20/10/6 and a plus+17. That'll do. A couple more 3s drop and it's a big game.

And thank God for Reggie, only playing the best ball of his career. If Beverley doesn't come around any better, tonight's

Reggie 28 minutes
Rondo 20 minutes
Beverley 18 minutes
Mann spot minutes

could be the 1/2 rotation.

Kawhi: still on self-load management/cruise control but 9 assists
Marcus: a quiet 15 points but that's fine too
Batum: 11 points, ditto

Feel free to rip PG and his shooting but playing with an inadequate guard like Pat Bev as a fellow starter doesn't help anyone or anything team wise. His so called amazing defense is not negating how bad he is on offense. There's almost no threat of him scoring nor making an assist for the team at all on the offensive end. Mann looked better than him even in garbage time which is another crime all to itself. I trust Ty Lue and I hope Pat Bev proves me wrong but I have no clue as to why he's starting and getting the minutes he's receiving.

I agree, Bev isn't enough. But yet Morris still shoots fantastic despite him in.

I'd like to see Mann as well, I think it would help PG's game a lot to have someone who can DRIVE to the basket while he can spot up shoot (his main and most useful role).

Morris shot the ball well no doubt but PG still had 10 boards, 6 assists, and helped contain Ball and Rozier on the defensive end despite his mediocre shooting. Can't really put Morris above him in this game

Agree on Mann, imo his ability to drive will help when our shooting goes into cold streaks. I like Pat Bev and but he needs to be on a short leash. I'll trust Lue for now.

Morris always shoots the ball phenomenally well. Currently SECOND in the league in 3pt FG% at 47.1. He's averaging 13.5 pts, Joe Harris #1 is at 14.1 and Bobby Portis #3 is 11.4

https://www.espn.com/nba/stats/player/_/table/offensive/sort/threePointFieldGoalPct/dir/desc

Now imagine if he got an extra 3-4 more shots instead of some of those garbage low IQ shots PG takes. We'd be better off AND PG would have more energy to play D and grab the boards.

PG is fantastic at getting the boards and playing defense. Playmaking.... not really. But this is just talking from an offensive perspective and a TEAM perspective. The goal is not to have PG score 30 pts a game and look great on highlights, it's to win games when it counts.

These games are not Game 7. Our record with him and his plus/minus [3rd best on the team] were excellent before Bev got hurt. He will get every chance to get back where he was. Not only that but we return last year's starting lineup now that Ibaka has fallen off and Zu has the job.

We are HURTING for continuity. At least the starting 5 has some. And despite Bev's struggles since the All-Star break, we are 7-1 in the games he's played in. He is NOT hurting us.

Don't underestimate Bev's effect on Kawhi and PG and the possibility that THEY play better with Bev out there doing his high-energy thing. There's something called chemistry, and it's real. Last year the KL-PG-Zubac-Morris-Beverley lineup was SECOND in net rating in the NBA!! That's reason enough to play this out with Beverley.

As a mid-second-rounder in his 2nd year, for T-Mann to even be at the fringe of a playoff rotation for a MAJOR contender is a helluvan accomplishment. But hasn't and probably never will match the player that Bev has been at his best--a 3-time All-Defensive Team [one 1st and two 2nds]. That's SPECIAL.

We know what Mann can do. The Clippers owe it to themselves to find out if Bev can recapture that special form--and admittedly, damn quick. But if not, we have Reggie at the top of his game as backup. Unless Ty needs to hit the panic button, Mann will pick up minutes at the back of the rotation, not the front.

Reggie had another ANOTHER excellent game tonight. Just keeping things in perspective.

Right and rebounds and defense is apart of the team's success. Lue does have a weird sorta Doc like things where he refuses to give the younger players as much shine as the vets.

My only thought is that Bev is so important for locker room things that reducing his role significantly would really sour him. I can't see what else it is bc Bev is just an empty void offensively nowadays..

No we don't at all. We've yet to see him play significant minutes with Kawhi and PG with the starters and how he could run the team if given an opportunity. We know EXACTLY what Bev can bring to the table at full strength, we've seen it for years. In his reduced state all we need from his is limited minutes.

And you'd have REGGIE in case Bev doesn't play well? What is with the hate on Mann???? I'm so confused..

Hate to point to the obvious in your posts that you know he's going to give you garbage then why are you so upset at PG? Isn't expecting differently from the same thing over and over again a...

Why am I upset a max player refuses to change his style of play for the betterment of the team?

Yeah. PG is shooting 41.2% from deep this year and you want him to shoot less. Ok.
