Thoughts on the new J Cole?

Let Go My Hand is one of the best songs he's ever done. Gonna let the album as a whole marinate on me for a week and see how it feels

The best album I've heard this year is Black Sheep by Yelawolf & Caskey and it's not even close.

My favorite hip hop album (not by Tribe) is The Grind Date.

Easily one of my favorite tracks of all time. I’ve spent thousands of hours shooting hoops and skateboarding to this. It’s just perfect.

I just wish more of De La Soul’s catalogue was on Apple Music. Their label absolutely **** them over

Holy moly, the new Faye Webster is good. Embarrassed she was off my radar until now. Courtney Barnett level lyrical chops filtered through the American South and flavored with pedal steel, I mean c'mon, this was created in a lab for me.

Never heard of her so I started listening to her top ten on Spotify. Wow. Holy ****, wow. Thanks for the recommendation!

ETA: She's another Kacey Musgraves. Good stuff.

So has anyone started going to concerts? I have been in need of a dose of live music but mosh pits seem so uncool right now.

Do I have to wait for a favorite band to come through? What's everyone thinking for shows?

She's wonderful. This reminds me so much of Stephen Malkmus, but not in a remotely derivative way.

Periodic reminder that Steve Malkmus wrote and recorded a song about mercurial Milwaukee Bucks legend Brandon "Brad" Jennings and spreader of seeds Scott Skiles.

The fact De La Soul is so unavailable is a damn shame. Most of my dope CDs have been stolen or given away.

Randon Hip-Hop album I stumbled into the other day on Spotify: "Hard 2 Obtain" - album is called "Ism and Blues". Really incredible production. Sounds like they are from Jersey and were down with the likes of KMD. I had never heard of them, but they have a track with the Artifacts on there as well.

I haven't posted much lately. I re-subbed to SXM last year after getting a new car and discovering how much I actually love listening in my office while working. I WFH permanently and previously just listened to Spotify, but the past 3-4 years I had noticed I stopped discovering as much music. I really love Sirius XMU and Spectrum for my tastes, and it's been great to listen to them regularly again.

So anyways, here's what I've been vibing to the past 6 months or so.

Whole album is absolute fire.

My favorite song of theirs in many years - probably since Top Notch.

This makes me feel nostalgic - nothing in particular, just a longing feeling. I get goosebumps every **** time. Favorite song of 2021 so far.

Magical

This song **** rocks. I didn't know I needed a DSD and Sharon Van Etten collab. I want an album.

Nice to have some chillwave back - Washed Out last year, now Small Black.

This music video, lol

Really excited for this debut album.

And one old song - that I didn't hear until like 3 weeks ago. I only ever heard Sofia, which is a fine song, but I love this one.

Was waiting for another jam from Swae Lee since Sunflower from Spiderverse and this song has kind of become my go to playoffs anthem

Is a 2019 music thread still relevant in 2021?
