Ice Man wrote:I don't get Philly. This group has never won anything, and with 2 more games to go in the season after tonight, the top seed not yet clinched, it's acting like a three-time champ that can't be bothered. Embiid mailed in his performance tonight with a 6/2/1 performance (hell, Pat Williams does more than that) and the rest of the team followed suit. Just strange.

Don’t question Doc Rivers lol.

Hey, Wendell Carter put up 12 (on 4 of 11 shooting) and 11 (though 5 ORB) last night with a +/- of -27!

Putting up 12/9 for Orlando in 3 more minutes per game than the 11/8 he was putting up for the Bulls, on slightly lower FG%, lower percentage from 3 (same makes, twice the attempts), lower assists, same blocks, a touch higher steals - an lower usage (but getting mroe FGA via "garbage buckets" - read: effort)....

So, you know, the same player with a little bit more effort on the boards...

Haven't heard from all those people who were talking about how stupid it was to trade him away in a while....

I can't help but feel envious watching guys like Okoro, Hayes, and even Kenyon Martin Jr. string together some impressive games. Meanwhile our guy Pat has remained stagnant, and if anything appears to be regressing.

And I don't want to hear the "he's so young" excuse. Each of the aforementioned players are between 19 and 20 years old.

You're envious of those guys? What am I missing? Pat's been low-key, but Okoro and Hayes have 7 and 5 PERs respectively, with dramatically worse TS%. Patrick has literally been twice the player.

Indeed. You have to give something to get something. I’m ok with it. Look at all our 7s. Look at this history of 8s....my...goodness.

Count me out of the sky is falling hyperbole just because at worst, we put off a full rebuild for 2-3 years.

Westbrook looks so proud of himself to make that 10th spot in the East lol. What a clown, with his talent he should of been battling to be into the top 3 not where he is now. Really he should be ashamed of himself not proud. Also I doubt they even make the actual playoffs.

Really? Of course I’ll be hoping against hope, but I expect to give the Magic the 8th or 9th overall pick. Mere probability.

Agreed.

But it's also true that even if we had finished with the absolute worst record in the league, there would have been a 47.86% chance that we'd be giving the Magic our pick.

He wasn't healthy to start the season. Additionally, Beal missed 12 games and Thomas Bryant only played in 10 total (he was slated to be their starting center).

They might not make the playoffs, but I'm sure he's glad that they went on a streak (16-8) to give themselves a chance at it.

The East play-in was always going to be bad, there are simply not enough quality teams in the conference.

I’m really looking forward to the play-in in the West though.

It’s not even that injuries to big players hit 3 of the 4 teams if they were all healthy it would be more exciting

Celtics : Brown

Pacers : Brog and Turner

Hornets : Hayward

Not listing Beal because I think he plays next week but Hell who even to say these teams would be there if no injuries occurred we were in the mix before Lavine’s ankle and Covid smh

Everyone's been hit with lost games due to injuries/covid. Really only Brooklyn & Atlanta were outliers, and of course Orlando.
