Add a lottery pick, and cap room to sign a FA (s).

I still think we’re better off signing Lowry or doing a sign and trade with him.

He's a 2nd round pick so he has a team option 2nd year.

I haven't watched any Raptors basketball the last two weeks or so. But I've been paying attention to Jalen's numbers and I'm awfully impressed. However, the numbers only tell one side of the story.

For those that have actually been watching him play live: What has impressed you about him the most? What are his strengths & weaknesses? What is an NBA comparison? (I see a bit of Fultz in him)

2nd round picks have no set rules for contracts, raptors signed him to a 1 year 2way contract. but they can just qualify him as 2way and make him rfa.

usually higher 2nd round picks get 3-4 year deal (tyler terry with the mavs the 31st pick got 4 year deal), picks later in the draft usually dont even sign or just get token lets look at you unguranteed/2way contracts like jalen did.

to sign a 2nd round pick to contract longer than 2 year you also need to use cap room or exemption like mle.

Maybe they should hold him out! If he scored 40 on Sunday it's all over!!!

Feels like he showed more a more diverse offensive skillset in one night than I've seen from Trent's entire time with the Raptors. Floater, 3 ball, mid range pull-ups and multiple creative finishes at the rim. His handle looks nice too.

Anyone else liking Harris' game better than Trent's? Granted, Trent is a better defender, but his offensive game is very one dimensional right now. When he's not hitting threes he's not really doing much.

Harris looks like a potential three-level scorer, and he is an above average rebounder for a guard. He has the upside of being a microwave scorer off the bench like a Lou Williams or Ben Gordon. Heck, if he could improve his defense he could be a low level starter like Norm was this year.

He kind of reminds me of a taller Ben Gordon.

Trent is 22 and 1/4 so not going to judge him as is an unfinished product. He is not a swing guard like Harris. Harris has greater fluid mobility.

What is nice to see is the new bench mob is taking shape. Next year Nurse should cut starter minutes so these guys continue to showcase.

He was signed as a 2 way contract for this season so he is still fighting for a contract

Give him the Matt Thomas contract!!! Maybe player option 3rd, would that still give the Raptors Bird rights because including this season with the 2 later?

Anyone else hear that his mom and dad played basketball at SMU and that his mom is in the team HOF? :o

Some very high level offensive moves on display this game.
Also pretty decent vision and passing on drives
Handles were better than I expected and navigation through traffic was impressive
Was guarding Porzingas for a lot of the night and for some reason Porzingas did not really take advantage of his massive difference in height/weight/size and passed it out most of the time
Quite engaged on defense, stayed well with his players and never looked too out of place
Hopefully it wasn't just energy from playing in Dallas in front of family

We shall see how he does once teams have scouted him a bit more but a very promising start to his career given the lack of summer league, minimal training camp and not really spending as much time with the big club as a 2 way normally would.

Forgive me, but I need a lil bit more than 4 meaningless games to judge a player..to rank Jalen ahead of a younger Blue Devil/former McDs All-American that has been scoring for about a year in competitive teams

Did you watch the games? I'm also judging him on the G-League games with Malachi Flynn.

The Raptors staff only needed 1 half to see something in TD.

He is a lot like Lou Williams. Similar size, also a late 2nd round pick. He's got the potential to be instant offence off the bench. Not a good enough floor general to play pg and undersized to start at the 2. His defence has been better than I thought but he got switched onto Luka and was annihilated.

I've been impressed with his ability to get to the basket in recent games. He is already a very good 3pt shooter.
