Would be hilarious after all they’ve done to tank they end up winning their last game.

So am I right in saying the WORST that our odds can get now is a 3 way tie for 4th?

Ooh that would be big. Hopefully the Clipps need to lose again.

they are talking about it in the gen board. its clearly tanking and not just resting. i mean sure they rested pg and kwahi but when they got an 11pt.lead in the 1st half.through zubac and morris effort, they didnt play on the 2md half at all. the only name i recognized who played was kennard.

so who are they avoiding? and if so.. its gonna be an epic tank battle against okc lol.

it is... yhe Clips are clearly tanking to position themselves for the POs. I wonder who they are avoiding. But yeah if it means losing against okc then... wow epic tank battle. wouldnt be surprised if PG runs with a steel chair to knock his team8s out. lol

In those philly games, even if philly benches their starters, i wouldnt be surprised to see Cliff go with that same strategy and play Franks, Wagner, iggy and randle 35+ mins

i REALLY hope im right about this

Brazdeikis was the leading minutes guy in Philly-game-1 at 35. There were were four back-up players that got more minutes than ALL of the starters.

Coach Clifford is not trying to win games.

With the WIzards win, Chicago is out of the play-ins. This means the pick will not convert to the 15th slot.

Today's tankathon pull:
Chicago 1 :banghead:
Orlando 3 :D

....

Orlando is tied at #3/#4 with OKC
Orlando is 1 game better than #5/#6 Cleveland/Minnesota
Orlando cannot finish better than a tie for the 4th worst team now!

Orlando is 1 game worse than #2 Detroit
Orlando cannot finish worse than a tie for the 2nd worst team now!

Chicago sits at #8
Chicago cannot slot #7
Chicago is 1/2 game worse than #9/#10 New Orleans/Sacramento
Chicago is out of a play-in slot

The computers have the Magic finishing tied for 3/4 and the Bulls tied at 8/9/10.
(which means quite ridiculously the computers have the Bulls winning on the road against Brooklyn)

Yes this is correct. Orlando's "best" possible record is a tie for the 4/5/6.

I cannot even imagine the feelings I will have when the bulls land in the top 3.

is OKC not playing the Clips? i dont think so, but couldnt they win and move into 4th by themselves and us to 3rd?
And Detroit could win.

i dont think either of those teams do win, but they could. and that would push us to tied for 2nd worse team wouldnt it? (assuming we lose)

We just need to worry about losing tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see the injury report later today, for the 76ers.

The "worst" Orlando can finish is a tie for 2/3 and the "best" is a tie for 4/5/6. There is a HUGE number of things that could occur between those, as all of these are still possible: a 2/3/4 tie, a 3/4 tie, a 3/4/5/6 tie, a 3/4/5 tie, sole 3, 4/5 and sole 4.

Ah, the NBA tankathon is real.

ahh, sorry. misunderstood what you wrote. when you said we couldnt do better, thought you meant about the pick not records.

That's how a team TANKS.

..

Love this RealGM blurb:
Troy Weaver has been enthusiastic over Casey and his coaching staff's development of the franchise's young players.

Casey is well regarded by Tom Gores, who hired him three years ago.

So Detroit management is "enthusiastic" that their coach is actively working to lose games.

Hmm.

..
Weaver is regarded as some kind of draft genius by Pistons fans. I think they're over inflating him. Stewart, Hayes, and Bey really don't excite me. I thought Hayes was going to be more explosive, but he plays so slow that it's painful to watch. Dembouya isn't very good either, not sure why they'd pick up his option.

Sekou has shown flashes during the tank and he’s only 20. His 4th year option is about $5.5 million, and we’re talking about a young project off the bench playing behind Grant.

Quote the pistons posters who’ve called Weaver a draft genius

Genius may have been an exaggeration, but I noticed the theme that he's a very good talent evaluator.

We've spent the last 10 years here looking for little flashes from draft picks, and they just didn't pan out. A lot of the things I heard said about Elfrid Payton are things I've seen being said about Hayes. Like his passing is very good, and I saw a Rondo comparison. Who knows, I think he's the youngest player in the NBA and he's had that hip injury, he may still end up being good, it's hard for me to see right now.

Maybe I'm wrong about Sekou, I just haven't been impressed.
