I've been impressed with his handle and ability to get to his spot. Dallas started to focus in on him and take him out of the game at the end, but he made a nice dribble drive move and finish to get his 31.

Forgive me, but I need a lil bit more than 4 meaningless games to judge a player..to rank Jalen ahead of a younger Blue Devil/former McDs All-American that has been scoring for about a year in competitive teams
Did you watch the games? I'm also judging him on the G-League games with Malachi Flynn.
The Raptors staff only needed 1 half to see something in TD.
Look, GTjr as a freshmen under coach K did ~15ppg. Playing alongside the Lillard and them, he averaged 15+.
GTjr is younger than Jalen. Please get back to me after 40+games of this.
Yuta had 3 straight good games in April and his fans almost anointed him as well.
Last season :
1. ~52 games ==> All-NBA Second Team (2020)|NBA All-Star (2020)
2. 8 games + 11 playoff games under Covid ==> Struggles
Plenty of folks decided to judge Pascal via n#2, I judged him via n#1
Please get back to me after 40+ meaningful-games of Jalen before putting him ahead of Gary. Thanks in advance!

So far trent looks like a cat h and shoot player.
In one game Harris looked like he had a more advanced offensive skillset. Again you can't say he will be better or more produxtive long term but he looks to have more in his repertoire than trent does.

He's shown some nice moves. Maybe he could be a consistent bench scorer next season. We need that.

Re: Jalen Harris Discussion
Both are rookies are NBA players and probably rotation players. Harris has a great feel and confidence on the offensive end. Both are pretty solid running the pick and roll and can make a great pocket pass. Pretty damn good draft for a 29 and 59 pick.
On a side note, Birch's main priority this offseason should be watching tape of Serge Ibaka in the pick and roll with us, mastering the elbow jumper and continuing improvement of his 3 ball. Loving the push shot on pick and roll, but might need that elbow jumper that Serge had at end of shot clock; that really was a great option at the end of the shot clock.

Also pretty decent vision and passing on drives
Handles were better than I expected and navigation through traffic was impressive
Was guarding Porzingas for a lot of the night and for some reason Porzingas did not really take advantage of his massive difference in height/weight/size and passed it out most of the time
Quite engaged on defense, stayed well with his players and never looked too out of place
Hopefully it wasn't just energy from playing in Dallas in front of family
We shall see how he does once teams have scouted him a bit more but a very promising start to his career given the lack of summer league, minimal training camp and not really spending as much time with the big club as a 2 way normally would.
Speaking of which, are we going to have a summer league this year?

MASAI UJIRI HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!!!
HE HAS KYRIE-ESQUE HANDLES!! HE HAS QUICK SHIFTY MOVEMENTS AND THE ABILITY TO ADJUST HIS BODY IN MID AIR AND FINISH LAYUPS HAS BEEN INPRESSIVE. THAT JUMPSHOT WITH THAT HIGH ARC IS SO SMOOTH AND PLEASURING TO WATCH, STRAIGHT UP SWISHES EVERY TIME

Re: Jalen Harris Discussion
I want to see what he can do next year getting some minutes off the bench. We're going to need bench scoring, and he seems like a natural scorer. It'll be interesting to see how he develops next season and whether he takes on that role.

The defense is slightly better too!
I'm good with him as the 3rd PG next year and backup SG at least.

Re: Jalen Harris Discussion
Next year is going to be fun. A lineup of
Starting C (Kelly O/Holmes)
Siakam
OG
Cade/Green
VV
Trent
Bouche
Flynn
Birch
As your top 9 rotation with
Harris being the 10th for more scoring or
Yuta being the 10th for more defence and rebounding
Then we’ll have 2 seconds Gillespie and Watson to round out the roster and hopefully we sign a vet pg

Agreed. Style-wise, Trent plays more like Klay and Harris plays more like Curry.
Disclaimer: just comparison of styles not level of play...yet

He can alter his shot to get it off without dipping the ball. And he's throwing the ball ahead of himself to set up moving corner 3s.
Haven't seen that from anyone on our roster this year so..

Re: Jalen Harris Discussion
The question with all these young guys looking good with extended minutes is, can they become valuable subs next year with all the starters back? Can Jalen come off the bench with far reduced minutes and still give some offensive pop in short spurts. It's a different scenario than starting in a pressure free emergency situation.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Yeah, that's the next step especially for Harris and Flynn. Can they provide enough production to be 1) reliable bench guys and 2) eventually provide enough production to be able to trade a Fred and/or a Trent for that disgruntled superstar that will eventually come around in the next few years.

We will stick with the younger player that has proven that he can score 15+ playing along guys like Lillard, McC, Melo, Nurkic, Kanter,Covington
Change your mind yet?

People overestimate players base on small sample size unfortunately.

The bigger question is are some of the starters worth investing in more so than these bench players.

Re: Jalen Harris Discussion
Also before people start putting down GTJ. Let's not forget that GTJ is still younger than Jalen Harris.
While I do like Harris, GTJ is also a very nice young piece to have. Raptors FO have their hands full this offseasons.

Conversely, Trent's sample size is more than adequate. 39.5 FG% with us. That's an average, the mean is way worse. The assessment can be taken back to Portland, if his numbers were bad here without starters, we can then say his #'s in Portland were better with Dame/CJ (career 41.5 FG% is bad for a SG, needs to be around 45%) . Bottom line: who is the better value? Trent at $15M per is going to limit us in other areas such as starting C which should be our priority. Its 50%+ likely that we draft a SG, at most Trent has 1 season before he is likely supplanted by this draft pick. Trent isn't a bad player but he's not worth the money when there are cheap alternatives available that can give you similar production. We should be able to see it. Keep in mind, Dallas needed to win last night to avoid play in. Those were quality minutes.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.
