This is the thread you're referring to I imagine. Edwards didnt say Weavers exact big board. How foolish would Weaver be to tell a media member the exact pistons big board not knowing where we draft? Also pretty good chance the big board isnt even completely done yet with a class like this and will go down to interviews and personal workouts along with more film.

He said on a pod that he heard the organization liked Jalen Green then said that again on this reddit thread. He also said he heard they like Bouknight. Again none of this is to be taken as this is the official big board of Troy Weaver. Not to mention I'm sure Edwards is very aware that Pistons reddit and twitter are all in love with Green when he makes that comment. Not to say Weaver doesnt like Green I'm sure he does but I'm sure hes not telling the world his exact plans for the draft right now.

Some clips of things Mobley can do. He will be able to play and fit with anyone. That said Stewert may end up being better as a backup big Harrell style in the future. Regardless we shouldnt be drafting with the idea that this guy fits with this guy right now. Just take the best player and go from there.

Anyone that sees Mobley as just a big hasn't been watching. There's a reason why he's a clear cut #2 on 90% of scouts boards all year.

He's a 7 foot wing that can play big, not vice versa. When he gets into NBA spacing and away from his big brother and father people will see a different player. This is probably common knowledge across the league.

I have no doubt Troy likes shooting guards. Fans like shooting guards. You can make a lot of money off tickets drafting an exciting shooting guard. But I don't know Troy's board.

He did surprise everyone last year getting centers. Maybe he takes a Unicorn with wing skills. Who knows?

Let's see if we get 1,2, or 3, or 4.

Let's hope he goes for the players he wants with building a CHAMPIONSHIP team in mind. It's a great time to be a Pistons fan.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

Why? Both player can play both forward position? We would have depth for once.

I personally don't think a compelling case can be made that the Pistons absolutely should take Green or Suggs over Mobley if all three are available or vice versa. I wouldn't be upset at all if Weaver took Mobley over the guards because unlike other people here, I don't think I know more than Weaver about player projections nor what the best plan is for the Pistons. If the Pistons land anywhere in the top 4 there's only one move that would bother me--not taking Cade if he were available.

But I'm saying, there were these 2 games in March. Mobley's a scrub bro.

While I would never purport to know what Weaver is thinking, I'd bet my house he has very firmly established preferences for picks 1-6 based on who's available where the Pistons land, i.e. the draft decision has already been made. So "not easy" doesn't enter into it because the only question is which position it will be.

Now, if what you mean is that you hope Mobley is gone so Weaver HAS to take one of either Suggs or Mobley if they're available when the Pistons pick, I can understand that sentiment.

Good point. I pretty much mean I don’t want to draft Mobley over Suggs or Green but I also don’t want to pass on him if he’s as good as advertised. I’m glad the decision is Weaver’s to make. Just give him a top 4 pick.

In my mind, Mobley has the 2nd highest upside in the draft. That alone is a good reason to pick him #2. That said, I also think Green is almost certainly going to be a 20+ PPG scorer on his rookie contract and is almost guaranteed to be an All star at least a few times. Green worst case you are getting a good scorer that is a borderline all star. MOBLEY best case is better and worst case is lower.

I hate to compare it to 03, but Green is closer to the Melo pick. He was at worst going to be a guy that could score the ball and be an all star. His worst case was a poor man's Glen Robinson. Darko could move and do things for his size that was exciting, but he was far from a guaranteed star. Really same thing for Bosh as a rookie his size and potential made Toronto pick him over Wade because they thought he had a higher ceiling, but Wade was a pretty safe pick that would for sure going to be a good scoring guard in the league.

I won’t be at all upset if we have a choice and Weaver takes Mobley over Green.... because that means we got our lottery ball picked, which is by far the more important thing.

It’s easier to project Green. He’s Beal reborn. Gonna be very good to great.

Mobley could be a lot of things, but he’s not particularly similar to anyone in the league. That’s not bad or good, just less certain. If we do draft him, I’ll be excited to see what he turns in to.

You know, I wanted to state exactly what you just did, but I hesitated as that's a bold damn thing to say.

Screw it. I agree with you 100%.

Breath of fresh air surrounding this team and I'm going to embrace how great it is.
