IF we had a whole year under Nate our season averages would be much better in terms of defensive ranking. But so would our record and we would've finished higher than the #4v#5 game.

I prefer to look at this season as a season featuring two distinct Hawks teams. Anything that happened when Pierce was in charge can be thrown out the window. This team under Nate is one of the best in the league.

He really solves every potential issue we would have with this matchup. Capela can't bully him as easily on the boards, Trae will be scared to drive with Mitch lurking, and less butter hands around the rim on offense which means less Capela rotating over to help.

Norvel Pell was the only reason you won that game. It was his big uncoordinated foot that Trae landed on and sprained his ankle. Knicks player of the game for sure.


as for no defense, we're 13th in the league in defense since April 1. This is completely different team since Nate took over.

I don't get the overreaction, but ok. Just simply dispelling the notion that the Hawks are all offense with ZERO defense. They are still not one of the top tier defensive teams league wide but they aren't bargain basement either like they were to start the season. The team has played differently on both offense and defense under Nate which has translated to winning. Even on offense, the Hawks are now bottom 10 in pace under Nate, so we are running a more half court sets which will be needed in the playoffs.

I’m down with that, but I think the primary reason Thibs likes Elf is for “defensive purposes.” So, if he’s really looking for a defensive presence for dealing with Trae, then Frank’s my choice. But if not, I’m cool with giving more to IQ, Burks, etc.

Yeah and you can furnish that **** with a futon and a milk crate to eat on. When I first got my own apartment in the A I just plonked down what I could afford and had a 2 bedroom with a loft, living room, dining nook and a big kitchen. **** was empty for like 6 months.
