Part 1
Part 2
* Don't expect much turnover this off-season. He likes the group & the foundation. Wants to keep his free agents (Diallo, Lee...?).
* He made clear that all the guys in the top 5 can play. He's looking for guys with "pistons dna" and competitiveness more-so than certain skill-sets.

Re: Weaver's season-exit presser
I like a guy that has a brain that works faster than his mouth. He’s not a great speaker, by any stretch, but I feel like he’s on top of everything in his head. Some guys, with the mouth working faster than the brain, you never know what they’re going to say or even if it means anything (lots of examples here, but I’ll spare you).
He didn’t say much, except he likes most of the roster (don’t expect massive turnover again), he’s not ok with winning 20 games again (kinda funny, given the obvious tanking going on), and he’s big on hard workers. And he likes Diallo, seems like we’ll try and keep him.
And that Beastie Boys reference was pretty bizarre.

Yeah, he didn’t outright criticize anyone, but it’s pretty clear he sees Killian as a dude that has a LOT of work to do. Pretty obvious, I know, but nice of him not to directly dress him down. Get to work, Hayes. Today.

I like his speaking style. It shows he actually thinks before he speaks.

Maybe I'm missing something, how is that directed at Killian?tmorgan wrote:Yeah, he didn’t outright criticize anyone, but it’s pretty clear he sees Killian as a dude that has a LOT of work to do. Pretty obvious, I know, but nice of him not to directly dress him down. Get to work, Hayes. Today.

What, the "You gotta fight for your right..." reference? He was literally talking about Killian. and his challenges in adjusting to the nba from the european game.

Re: Weaver's season-exit presser
Oh I hadn't made it that far in the video. Sounds like he was talking about him already and threw that reference in, yeah? I thought that statement may have been made with no prior context.flow wrote:DetroitSho wrote:Maybe I'm missing something, how is that directed at Killian?tmorgan wrote:Yeah, he didn’t outright criticize anyone, but it’s pretty clear he sees Killian as a dude that has a LOT of work to do. I don't know..."restoration" sounds similar to "retoolation" and you know what that means--blow all the cap space in free agency overpaying for washed up vets in order to guarantee a #8 seed.

It’s been really interesting how views on Weaver have evolved since the offseason. I’ve been part of that evolution.
