I like the look of Jimmy Dolan.

Lottery is still 5+ weeks away. So it'll still be a while before we know the status of that pick. Myers should still be probing for a starter upgrade in the meantime with the prospect of adding a mid lottery pick to sweeten the pot.

So, our pick is either the 14th or the 17th, right?

Re: 2021 Draft Thread
It could possibly still be 1, 2, 3, 4, 14, 17, or 18. But 17 is the most likely outcome as of now.

No. Worst case scenario is the Warriors end up with no 1st round picks. If they drop out of the playoffs they are in the lottery, then they could "win" one of the top 3 picks and lose it.

It can't be 1-4 ... if they end up 1-4 the pick is gone. Avoiding that is one of the reasons they worked so hard to get the 8th spot. Make the playoffs and keep the pick for sure, miss the playoffs and bad luck loses them the pick.

Who is it gone to?
Bob Myers, June 7, 2018: "“It’s not in my job description to please NBA fans. It’s to win, end of story. I don’t need to be entertained, I just need to win. That’s all it is. That’s all I was hired to do. Win.”

nope, the warriors will keep their own pick in this draft and it will be #17 or 18 if they get in the playoffs and they will be the 14th with a shot in the lottery if they miss the playoffs. If you are talking about the Minny pick, it is 1-3 protected.

If we get the Minny pick and it's anywhere between #6 and #8, I want Scottie Barnes. I like him way more than anyone outside of the projected Top 4. I may even like him more than Kuminga. I don't even care that his offensive game will take time to develop. Barnes is going to be a defensive menace. He'd fit in perfectly with our team. Our own pick is going to be interesting in that a talented player like Jalen Johnson could be available at #14 but gone by #17. Now if, despite only a 2.4% chance, the basketball gods blessed us with a Top 4 pick in addition to Minny's pick, I'd likely end up in the ER with some sort of heart situation.

I like Barnes and think he would do well with us but his lack of offense combined with draymonds offensive decline I’d rather go somewhere else with the pick add in his lack of rebounding.
I think jalen Johnson would fit better while bringing similar attributes. I may even prefer Garuba to Barnes, if you’re looking for a lock down defender.

Re: 2021 Draft Thread
Neemias Queta might be a big we look at at 17/18. Looks to have the skills to defend the perimeter as well as the rim (led the country in blocks). The thing I like the most is his passing/assist numbers for a big.
Do we even need a big with Wiseman is a good question, I just see Queta in a potential Bogut role.
But a wing might make more sense, maybe Greg Brown? Wasn't he a projected lotto pick coming out of HS?
Green or Suggs/Poole/Jessup/Brown/Wiseman ?
Draft Lotto: June 22 @ 17:30 pst

Looks like only Kuminga is a plus rebounder in our range, but even his numbers are a bit misleading.
For our owned pick, I guess you hope for Wagner to fall? Other than him, also not a ton of options.

Now that we have a sticky 2021 draft thread, i'll reiterate my current status:
Trade whatever to get Jalen Green. He's going to be a superstar.
And if that can't happen, my 2nd option would be to trade our draft assets for an established NBA player.

Yeah, I've been dreaming of getting the 4th pick and Green falling to #4. I really don't get people when they say Green/Kuminga are a coin flip. To me they are not in the same class.

If we get the 5th or 6th pick plus our FRP - what else do we need to attach to grab a top 4 guy?
I wouldn’t want to include Wiseman.

I don't think we can get #5. Too bad, because 5 + something might get you something better. Getting from #6 into the top 5, however, will cost a lot more I think, unless something changes.cdubbz wrote:If we get the 5th or 6th pick plus our FRP - what else do we need to attach to grab a top 4 guy?
