GT: The Evil Empire (BKN) vs Bahstan Saltics: NBA Playoffs Round 1, Game 1 (5/22/2021 8pm EST ABC)
The game will be played on Saturday Night, at 8pm. This is it. Here we go.
Time for some debts to be settled. Danny Ainge's check has come due.
I remember Boston fans wishing injury on our players a few years back.
I said some nasty things too.
But **** all of that. This is a blood feud. **** the Celtics.

It is very satisfying to get Boston. will be fun to beat them.
We need to really take their coaching advantage and playoff experience seriously though. Nash probably isnt smart enough or too arrogant to gameplan to target kemba or adjust to fournier having a good series. and he wont exploit their lack of a decent big he will go small and let them off the hook.
We win this series. just a matter of how long it goes. id say 6 games with stevens and tatum both willing a win. but our 4 wins will all be convincing.
I'd bet on Boston winning game 1. Nash wont be ready. Stevens will. It will require our talent to adjust

Wishing injury is as low as you can go and deserves a good beating. Show no mercy. The time has come.

I don't think this is going to be the cakewalk that many Nets fans are expecting. It might not take many games but Celtics have the talent, experience, and coaching to make things uncomfortable for us.

Saltics will get swept.
This team was terrible all year and they don't even have Jaylen Brown.
Beating the Wizards isn't that impressive guys. They just got stomped by Cleveland a few days ago.

I hope Kyrie puts up 30 PPG and embarrasses them in TD Garden.

The overconfidence makes me cringe.
Yeah, we've been the better team this year. But nothing is guaranteed in the NBA. LOL for a fanbase that saw our team win a paper championship in 2014 only to fall hilariously short, you'd think we'd know not to count our chickens before they hatch.

So long as we don't get off to any of our notorious slow starts, IMO we will sweep this team.
But if we sleep walk thru the 1st Qtr as we do on occasion, it might be a valuable lesson that cost us a game.

Seriously?
Stop being an apprehensive Nets fan.
We are the 2 seed in the East and have 3 All NBA level players. We should be confident against a bad team with their 2nd best player injured.
We were not good all season in 2014 so pretty stupid comparison

Were a contender. Time to start acting like at.

The Celtics are not a bad team. They still have Tatum, Kemba, Smart, and some solid role players, and a great coach in Stevens. And they notoriously punch above their weight class pretty much every year. Acting like they're some pushover team that we're going to auto demolish just reeks of overcompensation.
And why act so confident when our big 3 could fall apart at any minute? What happens if KD and Harden have hamstring issues pop up again, or if Kyrie hurts his surgically repaired shoulder, or tweaks his finger again and doesn't shoot right the rest of the way? Literally all 3 of them have had legit injury concerns within the last year, and people want to act like we're some infallible team. Get real.
And it still comes down to role players producing. Harris is injured and doesn't exactly have a track record of stepping up in PS games. Neither does Jeff Green. We're relying on role players with no legit PS experience to be major contributors in this playoff run (Mike James, Tyler Johnson, Nicolas Claxton, Landry Shamet). Blake Griffin is like the one role player who's actually got legit playoff experience and who I can trust to execute in a PS situation.
Plenty of question marks surround this team, much of it relating to health, but also to chemistry and PS experience outside of the big 3. Not to mention our rookie head coach who has yet to actually deal with game planning and making adjustments over the course of a playoff series.
The 2018 Warriors almost lost to the Rockets if not for a CP3 injury and an all-time poor shooting performance in game 7. And the 2019 Warriors actually did lose because of injuries to KD and Klay. The 08 Celtics went 7 games against a bad Hawks team in round 1 and a bad Cavs team in round 2. The champion Spurs in 2014 got pushed to 7 games in round 1 by the 8th seed Mavericks. Better teams get pushed by inferior ones all the time, even in the playoffs.
Stop intentionally being argumentative.

And like, I actually am confident that we take this series, given that we stay healthy. But that's a big if given how this year has gone, and I wouldn't put it past Boston from pushing this to 6 games, and making it surprisingly tough. What about their track record suggests they'll do anything less?

Dude theyre literally .500 and have been a trainwreck all year long. They're not good.
Sorry I'm not a worry wart whos bracing for injuries. What an odd way to think.
Its also hilarious that you'r bringing up nonsense concerns about our role players when the Celtics have arguably the worst bench in the league.
Yeah lets complain about Joe Harris. Grant Williams and Time Lord are so much better

Not to mention they don't even have Jaylen Brown!
And were not playing the 65 win Rockets! Again this Celtics teams suck. You're completely delusional.
You want to sit here petrified of a bad team go ahead.
There is no rational reason to be worried about this Celtics team at all. Not even in the slightest.
If this is how you feel right now good luck in the later rounds where we actually face good teams.

I worry about Nash but the big 3 knows how to get it done.
We have bigger fish to fry than the Celtics, I hope we don't mess around, crush them and crush them thoroughly.

This trash that call themselves Saltics not belong in a same gym with us, their coach pretty much said so. 1 -> 15 we got better players and experience and that's not even close.
Worst thing that going for Saltics is that they don't have any bigs to speak of. It's child abuse written all over it. If some can't see that than I'm not sure what you be watching than. Not having shot blockers vs us is a massacre waiting to happen.

There is not one perfect coach out there that going to win games for you in spite. Nash been better coach throughout the year whether agree or not. Having 39 different starting line ups yet having best win percentage back that up.
This is a great worm up series for us. We can see and experiment on few things, test where Hardens hemi is. Can he give us 35+ min ( not that we going to need that ) without getting hurt.
I'm not giving Bucks free pass over Heat. They definitely better team from the way it looks right now. However as we know playoffs is different animal and Hero with Nunn looking great right now. It's not going to be easy for neither team is my calculated guess.
