Aminu was a terrible fit for this team even before he suited up. Frankly this is the worst management move to date for me.

Orlando needed a back-up combo wing or a back-up SF. The team absolutely did not need yet another PF. And then we saw Aminu play and realised, yeh it's even worse than feared.

ehhh

I understood the logic behind signing him. Between AG & JI, one of them was always out for something. Chief was a vet combo F that could provide depth and start, if needed. And with Okeke taking a red-shirt season, we needed vet depth at that position. I was cool with the player, not the length of the contract. Unfortunately, he got injured, and was too stubborn to get surgery; thus, making him unavailable for most of the duration of his tenure here, and canceling out the very reason we signed him.

just didn't workout.

Still way better than the Serge signing.

I mean, this makes sense...

The most they’d be doing is overpaying for role players in free agency in all likelihood.

Agree... let's be aggressive in FA when we are trying to really compete. Like getting ready to challenge the top of the East. Only then would I want us to pursue that "missing piece" FA to complete the team. That would mean when our prized rookies/2nd year already are a little seasoned. Say next FA at the earliest but 2 off-season from now for real.

I think the front office feeling relieved after trading 3 veteran starters along with saying signing free agents isn’t part of the plan - pretty clear to me this team will be “organically rebuilding” (in the lottery, mainly playing young guys). Save for a Luka/LBJ level rookie performance of course.

I think next year's team is going to be extremely young. And extremely young usually means bad.

Let Ennis and Porter walk in FA and trade Ross and hypothetically you're looking at something like this to start next year.

G: Fultz (23), Anthony (21), MCW (30)
G: Harris (27), Hampton (20), Bacon (26)
F: 1st Round Pick (19), Okeke (23), Brazdeikis (22)
F: Isaac (24), 1st Round Pick (19), Wagner (24)
C: WCJ (22), Bamba (23), Hall (24)

You might only have one guy in the rotation to start next year over the age of 24. That level of inexperience is going to lead to a lot of losses unless one of those rookies is an absolute wunderkind.

Low key that roster makes me kind of concerned for Clifford’s health

That youth is going to drive Clifford mad, but he needs to expect that, and understand that when that tide turns a good team should come out of it. Hopefully. I wanted to strangle Cole Anthony most of this last year, can only imagine how Clifford felt dealing with him. Imagine 10 guys like that next year. But I still think he’s the guy who can teach them successful nba basketball.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

If we draft a PG/SG and Porter wants to jump on for a small one year deal to be a scoring SF and try to earn another big deal from someone next year then I don’t have a problem with that.

If we give him anything of real consequence over multiple years I will be pissed.

With Harris' contract also ending next year right? And if we resign Porter to something like Jeff Green's 1 ear contract AND if we don't extend one of Bamba/WCJ. We might be players for that year's group of FA. Problem is, do we have anyone we like and will sign with us?

Yeah, I'm personally in the boat that we are a surefire lock to finish as a bottom 5 team next year. The youth that we are going to be actively playing will ensure that much.

I would be 1000% shocked if guys like Ross/Harris were on this team past the trade deadline next year. Fultz by many advanced metrics has proven to be one of the worst starting guards in the league. I predict Isaac struggling a bit coming off a major injury and an increased role offensively.

Us being good next year is one of the last things I'm concerned about. We're going to add two more sub-20-year-olds to the rotation.

I think we need a poll for Magic posters only. LOL or is it too early because we dont know who we are picking and we dont know who we are signing?

Im one of those who think we are in the PO hunt next year and I know a lot think we are again in the tank wars ( to be honest the top prospects seems to be all big men(PF/C) which a lot here dont like ) so i dunno why we wanna tank

I think next year we will win and get into playoffs. Just my personal opinion.

btw how much cap space do we have if we let Ennis and Potter walk?

How are we going to use Boston's TPE?

I think Porter's NBA career might be in jeopardy. He has dealt with this foot injury for years now and has missed significant time because of it. I'd be shocked if we brought him back.

Team is way, way too young and our oldest core players will be coming off ACL injuries.

I would bet a hefty sum that we don't make it. I think we'll be competitive and scrappy, but no way do we make the playoffs unless every team somehow is bad.

we could barely finish bottom 5 this year with all the injuries. Isaac back, lottery pick, full training camp, i cant see us a bottom 5 team again
