The question is backwards, it needs to be, Masai, what do you plan to do to win again. You're the basketball guy, not MLSE.
No see that's why guys like Masai can posture and potentially walk on MLSE. He's a visionary and sees the big picture, much like Leiweke (and if Tim was here, Masai wouldn't be at the crossroads he currently is - it would have been done).
Masai's job was to put a winning product on the floor and he did that and then some. He brought us a chip when no one in a million years thought that was possible. The ownership's job is to keep investing into the team and to keep growing the brand globally. I think we can say we don't even do enough in Ontario, let alone globally. Our media coverage stinks - we get passed over by Curling. I don't have stats on NBA/Raptors air time but it doesn't even come close to Leafs/NHL and that's a problem, with basketball/nba/raptors interest at growing levels. Raptors and the NBA should be rammed down our throats just like NHL/Leafs are.
Masai wants to grow their brand and needs their support. It's a win win for everyone but MLSE needs to be committed. I get a sense MLSE just thought they could do status quo after winning in 2019 and that's not on Masai's agenda.
