2021 NBA Play-In For 8th: Pacers @ Bullets 8 PM (TNT/1500 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Wed May 19, 2021 4:04 am

YOUR Washington Bullets just suffered one of the most embarassing postseason Ls in recent history!

They let another CELTIC PLAYER GET 50 POINTS in a game in May. If you recall, the last one happened in May 2017.

On Thursday, the final chance to clinch a playoff spot arrives with the Pacers coming to DC. The Bullets have swept the season series with high scoring, high paced games. Westbrook has dominated Indiana. But is he 100%?

Beal is not 100% either.

And the role players i.e. Hachimura, Bertans, Len, Gafford are playing like horse shyt. It is Ish Smith of all people giving the bench the only production worth a damn.

And of course, there's Scott Brooks with his terrible rotations. Where's Gill? Why must midgets guard players like 6'8 Tatum and let him go into his Kobe bag to score 50?

Will this be Brooks' final game in DC????

In a way, the most #sowizards outcome would be for them to make this historic improbable run to the 8th seed, then get absolutely demolished in both play in games.

The best outcome for the Wizards would probably be a loss here, but like a dummy of course I am rooting for a win.

The Pacers are so much more formidable with Brogdan in the lineup. He’s going to neutralize Westbrook.

I’m not optimistic.

Same here. A loss should guarantee that Brooks is gone for good...but the sucker in me wants to see more post season basketball, even if we are likely to be demolished by the Sixers in round 1.

We need to make some 3's early on to at least provide the threat. Otherwise, we become very easy to defend.

And Rui... wake up! Play like you care.

This is the perfect situation for me as I wanted Philly all along. Tatum kills us every time so I know that KD could probably average 45. I like the match-up with Philly way better. Brogdon is back but Levert is out due to protocol.

Again, I just think that both Brad and Russ are due for a hot stretch and we are at home. Indy has been lighting the scoreboard up but they can never stop us. I remember everyone going crazy because they scored like 152 in regulation one game. Then we played them the next and scored 154. I expect our backcourt and Bertans to shooot way better but still disappointed in brads hammy at the worse time.

We should win but you never know with Brooks decisions

Rui got absolutely bent over by the refs last night . That's not really the kids fault.

Brooks is really the issue here and win or loose, I hope someone with basket ball know how can get to Ted and show him just how **** bad brooks has been. Show him how many more winnable games this team should have won with out him. I'm tallking 5-13. in the east that's a massive difference.

I hope we win for beals sake. He deserves to be in the play offs and so does Russ. But, we also really need brooks gone. Russ and beal are smart enough to know who the real problem is and I hope they push that through to tommy and to Ted.

The way gill has played there was 0 reason to sit him last night that he shouldn't be in that game over hitch who's done absolutely nothing for us so far. Hope we see him tonight and I hope we turn on some defence.

If we don't cover Doug McDermott at the 3 point line, he'll make us pay. He had 14 points in the first 5 minutes (!) against Charlotte; 20 in the first half. Our forwards have to actually play basketball this time.

Brooks is asz but sometimes if you are a real star then you have to overcome coaching, at least against bad teams. Basically, Russ and Beal need to win this game. Idc who your coaches or teammates are, Russ has been criticized more than anyone. SAS literally just said I told you so in regards to RWB.

If you listen to the media now, they literally act like Beal barely has any playoff experience and has never done anything in the postseason. He will be the fake 30ppg guy who on a lottery team. Perception is reality. Today Broussard said that Russ doesn't have another star. Straight disrespect. You have to show these people. You can't get the 8th seed and lose to Indy at home. It can't happen no matter what. Beal and Russ need to find their groove again.

If we lose, the fact is the non Wiz fans will say that RWB is a Stat padder whose triple doubles will never matter again and Beal will go from all nba to Kevin Martin. No one wants to hear the one leg man stuff when you play bad. If you are out there then man up. This is your legacy. They need to go get it by any means necessary. Ruthless all night

Can't root for a loss, but if the consolation prize is the end of the Scott Brooks era, I'll be able to manage the pain.

And a 2.4% to 4.8% chance of a top 4 pick.

Unlikely, but that would be insane. Missing the playoffs after that push but ending up with Cade Cunningham anyway.

It should be that, and it will also include a higher pick - 11th instead of 15th - if I'm not mistaken - it's better trade-down value. :D

Edit: Plus what Doc just said.

Ready for the season to end. Don't feel like getting embarrassed by Philly and I want a higher pick.

Hoping for an L

You will change your tune if our backcourt shows up and plays like the stars that they sre

Yes, we were one of the hottest teams over the last month and a half but that 17-6 finish, which means we may be able to glean what type of team this is, if we look at the competition. Over those 23 games, we played 6 games against actual playoff qualifying teams (PHX, UTA, DAL, MIL, ATL (2x)), where we went 1-5. Then there were 6 games against play-in teams (GS, SAS, LAL, IND (2x), CHA), where we went 5-1. That means we went 9-0 against lottery teams. By solely those data points during the best stretch of games we had all season, we seem to be exactly where we're supposed to be, a middle of the pack team, that's not good enough to beat a true playoff team but should win most games against other fringe teams and especially lottery teams.

With that being said, I'm fairly confident that we will beat Indiana, and then get beat by the 76ers in 4 or 5 games, 3 of those losses being pretty damn close but we just won't execute well enough on PnR defense to make stops when it truly counts.
Just let the young boys play! It's truly the only hope at this point.

I can’t see them losing this game, although it would be a better outcome for the future of the franchise. This team is just too talented, and the Pacers are missing such key pieces.

OTOH, Indy seems to be playing better in the last week or so. They're 4-2 since we beat them by a single point. The 2 losses were by a total of 8 points, the 4 wins by a total of 57 points.

Seems likely to be a tough game.

Pacers just beat a Hornets team by 27, the one the Wizards just beat by 5 that was coming off a back to back. I do think the Pacers without Lavert present different challenges given the ball seems to move more especially with Brogdon back.

Also, the Wizards could struggle with Beal and Neto not @ 100 %. Of course if Westbrook plays like he has against the Pacers, the Wizards could win. Even the last game though, Beal dropped 50 and Westbrook was good and the Wizards only won by 1 in OT against the pacers on a call by the officials who weren't too kind to them last game.
