Doc doesn't like anyone to criticize Ben while everyone else is fair game. Its weird.

He also compared him to Magic which is nauseating at this point. Its obvious Doc is a fan of big point guards(he was one himself).

If he thought it would be productive to publicly complain about him not shooting jump shots 5 days before the playoffs start he would do it.

Even before the season and in the beginning of the season. He has been dismissive of Ben shooting questions so the playoffs looming has nothing to do with it.
I also think it's fitting a round peg into a square hole. They know what they have and to act like he's suddenly going to be an amazing shooter is not realistic. I would expect (and hope) that behind closed doors that they are doing their best to encourage him to improve his offensive game just like they should have every player working to improve.

I think the problem is he is also a really good player, so you can't just trade for a much better offensive player without losing something.

No doubt this team will need a playmaker and I think they knew that before the playoffs and will be looking for one in the offseason. Just like Harden and Lowry though, it takes two sides to tango.

What he's good at, he does at an elite level which is super valuable to the team.

Would replacing him with Beal make the Sixers a better team? I'd argue not. And you could probably make the team would be better argument with only a couple of guys. Plus you want the ball in Embiid's hands so in a wierd way Simmons not shooting fits nicely.

Same concept applies. If he thought complaining about him shooting publicly would be productive he would do it. Doc is very media savvy he knows what he’s doing.

Looks like it's going to be the Wizards against us. We should still definitely win. If we're focused this is a sweep, but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes 5 or 6 games. We will be terrible at covering Beal, that being said, he is injured, so that may be to our benefit. Just need to pray that Bertans doesn't get hot.

It's not a binary choice. He may know what he's doing, but it's still weird.

Wizards hammer the Pacers. Sweeping Westbrook will be slightly enjoyable.

Bring on the Knicks!

Well he tried scoring 60 and it didn’t work so maybe he’ll try 70 :D

Thybulle did a great job on him last time. Might be a good soft test run to see how much him and Ben can play together in a playoff setting.

Also depends on what Beal's hamstring is like going into Sunday.

Washington. Indy is getting comfortable with Brissett. They seem like a cohesive team while Washington is incapable of defending Embiid.

Let Westbrook get his stats, mitigate a hobbled Beal, shut down the rest of the team, move on to the next round.

I think the Pacers could possibly steal a game or two from us.

There will be at least 1 game where Beal and Westbrook go nuclear and get a win. Maybe 2..

Again, im excited to hear what Doc will say in a game when we lose because Biid’s jumper is not going in and he can’t operate in the paint because Ben and his man is clogging it.

Been dropping his name on the ATL thread.
He’s not bad. I just dont know if he can defend Biid.

The Wizards best chance to make this a series is to steal game 1. The 76ers' starters will be rusty from being off for 9 days. If they can't even steal game 1, it's a sweep.

I wonder if we'll get a fight or altercation between Embiid and Westbrook.

Gafford is springy and athletic, but he is legitimately under 240 pounds. Embiid will man-handle him in the post and on the glass. I think we'll see a lot of Lopez/Len on Embiid. Gafford would be food, IMO.

Gafford has absolutely 0 chance of hanging with Embiid. He's too light and he's not the archetype of player Jo has trouble with. He played a few minutes when Jo torched the Bulls earlier in the season but idk if they were on the court together.

Man, how miserable is it to be a Suns fan? Best season in probably over a decade, get the 2 seed, all for a first round matchup with the defending champions. Just brutal.

If you're going to play them, first round with players rusty and hardly played together is a great time to do it.

Any love for the job our old buddy Monty is doing with the Suns. Like coach of the year type work. Funny he had to cool his heels here waiting for his chance to show what he can do.
