Trevor Story would be the logical pickup.

Yeah, I like that, what do we think it would cost given he is a FA after this season right?

Not much. Maybe a prospect just outside the top 10, another in the 20's, and a PTNBL.

At first I kinda laughed that off as Story is a legit hitter even without the Coors factor, but honestly not a ton was given up for Lindor near the end of his deal. Could be right.

In all seriousness, really bummed they gave up on Ji-Man Choi so quickly. He's a much better version of Dan Vogelbach.

I saw Heyman tweet that the Rays were on the cusp of dealing him for pitching and I said, "hmmm, seems like Brewers would be a fit."

I was actually right (for once).

Ok I think we can officially call the Urias for Grisham deal a disaster.

Looks like Adams has some pop in his bat but another guy hitting under .200 is well uninspiring.

This actually makes it more palatable to me.

Richards is a replacement-level guy I think that kinda evens out the Feyeiresen side. I'm assuming the Rays see a lot in Rasmussen?

I hesitate to do this because I loved the Grisham trade, but this seems like the Brewers got the better end of the deal given that the Rays were dealing from a surplus.

He's been better than that over his career. Was formerly a pretty big prospect but averages, regression, etc...he was hitting like .400 for a good part of the shortened season last year.

Stearns mucked that up
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Watch Tampa turn Rasmussen into a good starter.

This trade somewhat mirrors the Grisham trade in the opposite direction.

The known, solid commodity of Adames/Grisham being dealt from a surplus (Brewers felt comfortable in the OF probably) that have some upside (Grisham showed flashes of excellence, Adames is still young/the Tropicana factor) for the bag of magic beans (Urias/Rasmussen)

Ok, so never heard of Adames before, but if I look back at that 2019 season, I can see a lot of appeal there. And if I have to give guys like Keston and Yellich a pass for last year, I suppose I can give Adames the benefit of the doubt too.

Good high upside move with the downside being better defense and either gives Urias more time to develop or he becomes our super utility guy if he can ever figure out how to hit again.

Not the most inspiring group. Sterns probably should have answered the question by saying it doesn't **** matter who's in your pen if you can't score any runs.

Rasmussen had a terrible start but he's been solid over his last few appearances. Feyereisen had been solid as well. The guys they're relying on behind the Hader-Williams combo in their stead with haven't been as good this season. I don't think Stearns could argue otherwise.

I think Stearns and Counsell are going to start pushing their starters to pitch deeper into games. Press the advantage they think they have with their rotation. That way you won't end up seeing much more than Hader and Williams.

They also see that their offense is their biggest liability. They think Adames is an upgrade. So, they decide to sacrifice bullpen depth - which they'll need less of with longer starts - to upgrade the offense.

It's an interesting move. The question is whether Adames will actually be an upgrade. And they'll have less of a margin for error with their rotation. But I can see the reasoning.

Do you foresee Urias playing more 3rd and having Shaw make more 1B starts or is Urias just a bust and Stearns made a bad move?
