Couldn't shoot, isn't point guard.

And lot of it is jut opportunity.

Lewis landed on Pelicans that tried their best for playoffs. Kira was never going to play much early with Lonzo as starter.
Killian Hayes got hurt in his 7th nba game.
OKoro was brought to be Marcus Smart type of guy, switch on everybody guard & wing defender. Everything he does on offense is going to be plus.

Vassell landed on playoff contender on West where Keldon Johnson took leap and Lonnie Walker improved.

RJ was no different, on Denver he never played. He started playing on team that went 5-20 after making trade for him.

He has athletic profile required to be solid player, now it's up to him, can he shoot well enough & find his role on team that is not actively trying to lose every game, can he be effective in smaller role.
Next year, if we draft Green, Ross is our SG-SF backup, and Cole will be moved to bench. Can he be effective player on 6-8 shots a night?

Well time will tell.

I read somewhere Ross put his house up for sale so he is propably gone. I expect Cole to be backup pg, Hampton backup sg.

WHAT? That's news to me... troubling if we don't have proper vets next year.

Which backcourt of the future are you rolling with?

Can't I make up an option C:
Jalen Suggs + Jalen Green
(Cole + RJ off the bench)

I'd vote for C all day lol

Much like Cole Anthony, if RJ Hampton had been able to declare for the NBA draft as a high schooler he almost certainly would have gone in the top 10 and maybe even the top 5.

But instead of going to college, he went to Australia and just had an *awful* season there. His team was bad when he played. He couldn't make shots. He couldn't defend anyone. It just completely torpedoed his draft stock.

Ah.. Cole had the injury excuse and the worst supporting cast an ACC team i had ever seen . RJ was lost you mean? Im guilty that when I wanted RJ it was based on his high school recruitment hype and not his Australian career. Well glad he put it together when he arrived here.

Yeah I mean Hampton just had a really bad experience in Australia. He struggled. The team played a lot better after he got hurt. It just wasn't a good fit from the jump.

If he had gone to Kansas or Texas Tech and had a solid year, not even a good year, he'd have probably still been a lottery pick.

You have to take those top 20 recruits with grain of salt, they are never accurete when it comes to transition to nba.

2018 top 5 recruits were Bol Bol, Nassir Little and Romeo Langford.

Harry Giles used to be the number one recruit by espn's lists.

2015 class had Skal Labissiere as 2#, despite it, 3 of top 5 players turned into allstars, but after it, only like 4 out of 40 turned into rotation nba players. INcluding Donovan Mitchell, ranked 43#.

IF anything, guys like Labissiere, Cole Anthony , Stewart, Little, Harry Giles are prime example why drafting highschool prospects will be nightmare for rebuild. You will have teams that will take some 18 years old kid and hope that he will save their multi million dollars franchise, than year later you will figure you drafted glorified backup.
Where i'm exited that we might get some young new Kobe, it's very objective to expect army of Kwame Browns & Darius Miles to return in top 3.

Feel bad for Giles. Dude just had too many injuries and lost his athleticism. He would be at minimum a starter in this league if the injuries didn't happen.
