Honestly, we can talk about Curry's shortcomings, etc. but to me, it comes down to a principle I got from watching DBZ years ago. Goku was fighting frieza and losing kinda badly. On King Kai's planet, Goku's friend Yamcha says not to worry about the fight, because Goku still has his Kaioken times 10 technique—which amplifies your power 10 fold or whatever. But King Kain rains on his parade when he says that Goku had actually been using the technique the whole time. He had to use that technique to even keep the fight somewhat close. That's really my takeaway when watching all of these outmatched/outgunned superstars. They have to use all of their powers for it to even be close, so of course they'll make mistakes and won't be perfect. Curry averaged like 40 ppg on 63 TS% over the last three games, and thats with him being doubled and tripled constantly. Tonight, he played the whole second half, as a 33-year-old no less. That's hard to do in general, but the warriors are devoid of anyone you could call a truly above average offensive option. Wiggins was solid this year on the two-way front and he scored some points, but he's essentially got no basketball IQ and no savvy. Not his fault he was hyped to no end, just is what it is. Draymond has been very helpful this year with defense and passing and he had a triple double. But he's a complete liability and teams literally do not guard him at all. The rest of the guys are either really young or G-League type guys. Basically in these games, Curry and people in similar situations have to make every single big play. The same thing happened when Russ played the rockets in the 2017 playoffs. People clowned Russ with that gentleman's sweep and pointed to percentages. But they actually outscored the Rockets when Russ was on the court. But people just focused on the stats.
Curry is a good floor-raiser. If he would've played 4 or 5 more games the Warriors possibly duck the play-in. If they hadn't drafted Wiseman and had just gotten an actually decent big they would've been fine. Maybe get an actual capable scoring/passing point guard. Anything. They played at a 49-win pace (regular year) when Curry was healthy. Really, that's better than I even expected.
