Mavs hit a ton of timely 3s too. Seemed like every time the Clippers were about to get back in the game, Mavs hit another 3 ball.

I expect the Clippers to win game 2. If the Mavs can keep it close though they have a chance to win game 2. They’ve been really good at closing games out this season. I think the Clippers will come really focused in this one.

I think Mavs will blow out the Clippers in game 3 though.

Mavs seem to get a little overconfident at times so I almost think their best chance of winning this series is to alternate wins through game 7.
They seem to be more focused when games count the most and Luka seems to welcome the challenges that accompany tight situations and games.

Man, Luka was TENSE in game 1, I haven't seen him like that, he was mad when RC took him out after his 3rd foul, and he yelled at his teammates when they came to help him being posted up and left an open 3.
Under normal conditions, I'd say Clippers win is as certain as the sun rising from the east tomorrow, but Luka was different in game 1, who knows...
I'm not buying the too many open 3s, the Clippers doubled Luka, and he made them pay for it, only 2-3 3s from THJ were lightly contested, if the Clippers keep defending like that, the Mavs will keep hitting like, what I don't expect happening again is Clippers going sub 30% from the 3, they missed some easy shots, Mavs got lucky.

Stealing both games in LA would be massive. If Porzingis can take advantage of the size mismatches and Luka continues playing how he has been, anything is possible.

This needs to be Maxi’s revenge game. Hope he scores 20

I think the crowd is going to play a huge factor in this series. There will be 15,000+ screaming Mavs fans at each game in Dallas. Luka loves that atmosphere and loves to play up to the crowd. That’s why I expect game 3 will be a blowout.

I thought that a week ago, but listening to more analysts talk about this series and watching game 1.

I agree with what David Thorpe said about the Clippers. They haven't figured out how to guard Luka and/or they don't care to figure it out. Zach Lowe emphasized the point by saying it hasn't mattered when the Clips have switched or dropped back or stayed man up etc, Luka hasn't been phased by any of it.

I think the Mavs could win this series with just Luka being Luka because the Clippers Kawhi/PG perimeter defensive tandem that's supposed to be why the Clippers will win this series is basically a mirage.

I don't see anything keeping Luka under 25 ppg in this series and getting Mavs 3 pt shooters ample quality looks. That alone means the Mavs could win.

We're all worried about KP & Clippers' fans are all worried about PG doing his Pandemic P disappearing act.

KP being a super stud is something I think we only need with other teams.

It appears to me we can slide by the Clippers with his game even being sub par at some point and with others taking the reigns.

I would say this is because the clips lack a star to challenge KP and make us pay inside.

Realistically his game is less important when we play a team where he is not needing to outperform a major star in the front court.

We could see him dominate in the game as he gets his way against some lesser star when we play to his strengths and I would expect a game 2 strategy might be to show a different look at the clips where KP gets to score more.

If that inside out thing happens we will not need more than 6 games to take care of the clips.

Both our stars exploding on the clips = potential sweep.

Having KP show up and dominate is a thing we will need if we want to win a champioship and so that plan needs to get developed and looked at for the futures sake, so expect the mavs to get that looked into.

Rather him roll more like he did in the 4th quarter than post-up.

When KP plays like a rim rolling energy guy, the Mavs offense just feels more complete.

I wanna see the Mavericks be aggressive in this game. All of the pressure is on the Clippers. The Mavs should take shots from deep, throw lobs, run a few traps on Reggie Jackson, Pat Bev, etc. Continue to double Kawhi.

I wouldn't mind Luka taking a few heat check shots early in the game. If Dallas has any lead in this game, 2nd quarter and beyond, that really turns up the pressure on the Clippers. I could see people like PG, Marcus Morris, Batum, and even Kawhi miss a few shots they might otherwise make.

If things don't go that way, I'd like to see the Mavs slow the game down by fouling players (anyone buy Kawhi) and make them earn points from the line. Same idea the pressure might get to them, and allow the Mavs to make up some points.

I expect the Mavs to be in this game the whole way tomorrow, and I really hope we pull it out. I don't think the Clippers recover from 0-2.
