"nah, it is the grizzlies, they are tired. We should rest D.Mitchel the first one, we are going to win it anyway..."

Ive read the last two pages of this thread. Ill reply randomly :D :D

1.- Gobert´s defense is top. Despite fouling out in 25 minutes, he makes a big impact in our game. Remember we live in the paint.

2.- Gobert is a great player but he is hateable. That flop should have been a T.

Morant, Brooks and Anderson had an outstanding game. Really focused on both sides of the court. JV was pretty busy with gobert, still, managed to contain him and put up a Double-double.

If those 4 players keep up these numbers and energy and then, any other player step up, we have a chance. (with "any other player" I mean one of those JJJ´s 25 points game, 4/5 three pointers from Allen, Melton actually playing smart basketball... I know it will happen.)

Jazz players are making excuses I guarantee you the Grizz will use this to full their fire.

Not sure why... they are a long shot to win still. Very long.

Yes but that post was clearly referring to game 1 and it’s dumb to entirely count a team out and get cocky

No one really knows but he is obviously very close given the late scratch yesterday. I personally don't know how much recovery takes place in 2 days (like 2 days pain free doing normal drills or something?) but it really doesn't matter - the squad without him needs to be able to beat the Grizzlies in a 7 game series. NO excuses. If Mitchell needs that much more time to get to 100% that is what it is. Should they beat the Grizz, (and I am sure they will), getting DM back for the second round is soon enough.

Mitchell is their leading scorer. Its not like him being out means more shots for another perennial all star like harden or kyrie. Bogi or conley becomes the #1 option and that spells disaster for this team.

Yeah, the Jazz rely on Mitchell to be the main guy on offense. He'll also occupy Dillon Brooks defensively, making life a bit easier for Conley and Bogdanovic in their matchups.

Mitchell is cleared for Game 2 and presumably for the rest of the series. Jazz will have a few more days to prep for the Grizzlies and should be adjusted to their physical style. I expect the Jazz to set a different tone in Game 2.

Dumbest decision ever for them to not have him play the first game. If he can play now, he could have easily played Game 1. The impact of resting 2 more days when you've already rested this long is insignificant. Everyone was upset about it, and it took the Jazz out of having the proper mindset for the game. Utah better pray they just didn't create an opening for the Grizzlies.

Seriously? Bogey and Conley disasters? Jazz much?

As a Sixers fan I appreciate your take. However, the Jazz held onto the hard fought for #1 league seed for a MONTH without Mitchell. Their fortunes/good balling don't rely on Mitchell - they are enhanced greatly by Mitchell. The full strength squad, (and they will gel quickly), is not going to panic about dropping the opening game to the Grizz.

Playoffs are a different animal. The month that they continued to play well, most teams were tanking, or jockeying for playoff positioning. The Jazz nearly lost the #1 seed towards the end of the season. I agree, the Jazz are still favorite, but you don't mess around with this stuff.

This sure looks like fake news. No one thinks Donovan should be on the bench.

That's what I was going to say. Sounds so fake and not true. Especially when you listen to interviews and watch their on court interactions.

Or maybe the Jazz are truly the best actors in the league.
