Great game at MSG although not so much for Nix fans like Spike.

Interesting to note that Wizard board favorite Brandon Clarke was a DNP...

Minor injuries if actually minor don't get you DNP in play off games.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 5
Ruled out w/ some kind of a thigh contusion I believe.
But, the important thing is that he's not much of a player. Certainly not in a class with... well... I won't mention his name in the same post with the guy whose name I never mention.
& to explain why I don't bother to bring him up, well... there's just no reason to. For example, this season:
he got more defensive boards -- but that's not important.
grabbed 2.5 times as many offensive boards -- insignificant.
posted almost 50% more assists -- irrelevant, as we know.
Blocked more than 8 times as many shots -- how trivial!
Turned the ball over way less -- obviously not worth mentioning.
Had almost twice as many steals -- meaningless, clearly.
Committed fewer fouls -- who cares about that?
Had a higher efg% & TS% -- that's really reaching to point to something as valueless as that!!
Now you know why I don't bother to bring him up, right? Just wait for one of you to do it!

What do you think, Gamby -- probably they didn't play him b/c of some of the stuff I just noted? Is that it?
I tell you what. Why don't you be the guy who posts what Mr. Unnameable does in the rest of the series. You can compare it to what Rui does -- if you think that's important. Do you?

Nope, that was the case a week ago. This is for the GSW game per Rotoworld.com:
BRANDON CLARKE
PF, MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
Brandon Clarke was a DNP-CD during Friday's hard-fought win vs. the Warriors.
Clarke was playing a steady 18-22 minutes in a reserve role, but when it mattered most vs. the Warriors he was glued to the bench behind Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson Jr., Xavier Tillman and Kyle Anderson. This may be a product of the matchup vs. Golden State, so it'll be interesting to see whether he plays vs. Utah in the first round. Either way, this is not a great sign for his 2021-22 fantasy value since he'll be returning on a guaranteed deal along with every player mentioned above.
Btw, I do think he's a good player.

I also love Brandon Clarke a d I did not mean it as a jab at him or you, just a joke! I would actually kick the tires on a trade for him if he's available.

Dame going off with insanely good three point shooting to bring POR
back vs Den. Dare I say Curryesque. Over 30 in first half including one
Bomb from nearly center circle. Nothing but...

This is just a simple matter of Memphis having too many role players on the roster. There's just a minute limitation as to who can play. It's called the numbers game.
How can Xavier Tillman, Kyle Anderson, and Jaren Jackson Jr all have minutes and also Brandon Clarke?
They're not going to play center with JONAS valanciunas playing so well

Yup, and Tillman's a solid backup center - with 3 point range.

Facts, Memphis loaded with solid role players at the F & C spots. Says more about their depth than its says about Clarke. Clarke would fit very nicely with Davis Bertans in lineups.

True - though he really should work all summer - non-stop - on his jump-shooting form. It's like he learned it in the peach buckets era.

Dame cooled off after a 32 pt first half which isn't surprising. DEN put Gorden on him.
Then DEN also kept the pedal to the metal themselves. Lilliard still dropped 40. But POR lost.

Clippers in trouble. Probably losing in 5 or 6.
Luka is unstoppable. Tim Hardaway had damn near 30.
If I was Ty Lue, I'd play Mann more minutes. Play Ibaka more. And I'd have a short leesh on both Beverly and Jackson. Esp Beverly.
