It isn’t like he was good nor a scrub, he was a good enough find in the second round, just funny hearing him being fawned over. I guess I saw a game though when they were praising Dwight Powell like that... some great find. Rim runners are fun when you are winning.

I want to see Thibs/Rose/Taj win but my hatred for the Knicks is just to deep. I hate that they all went there, hopefully ice tray continues to screw them lol.

I just can't find it in me to root for the Knicks. I just can't.

I’m rooting for the old bulls who happen to play for the knicks.

Even if you hate the Knicks, I think everybody recognizes that the Knicks being good is just plain good for basketball.

Imagine these MSG playoff games being played in Charlotte or Orlando instead. Blech.

i'm not a million years old so I don't have this problem. love thibs ball, big fan of randle and taj, and cool to see some 'new' blood in the postseason.

i like the hawks too but to me the knicks are the underdog having a cinderella season.

tbh i have a harder time rooting for derrick 'we men' rose. gotta love his resurgence from a basketball perspective, but all that off court stuff basically got swept under the rug, same as it does with every other athlete or person in an athletics-adjacent profession (see: marv)

Yeah ofcourse makes the NBA more interesting for sure. Bulls-Knicks matchups should be fun too especially since Bulls are expected to also be a playoff team by next season.

Old timers always say that, and that notion still bleeds through, albeit to a lesser extent now, however, they have been irrelevant for SO DAMN long and have been the punchline for so many jokes around the league, and yet the league has continued to thrive, without them winning or having a real star in some time.

I think the Knicks being good really isn't important, it's what New Yorkers or people from the heyday want you to believe. It's a different generation, where even the smaller markets can get the same type of exposure, but perhaps not as much hype.

Hahahaa, I'm not a million years old either. But I start my fandom by watching the Bulls in the late 80's and early 90's, and perhaps the Bulls history has influenced my dislike for the Knicks, and I'm keeping that rivalry close to my chest. But in all honesty, even if Michael freaking Jordan were to have been traded to the Knicks, I still wouldn't root for them. I'll watch and support different teams on a game to game basis, but my loyalties will always be rooted to a single team, and that's the Bulls.

There's a reason even young guys talk about how special playing in MSG is. Watching this game in this stadium, with this crowd, with this lighting, with this organist…

…you can't tell me playing this game in Orlando or Charlotte is just as good an experience. You just can't.

Trae Young is ballin. He's not bothered by the NYK fans, he thrives off of it.

I'm not saying that there isn't a special tingle about the MCG, not going to argue with you there. My point was, the importance of the Knicks being a good team and being relevant is all that important to the leagues success.

I really don't care if people hate the way he plays (I'm one of them), but he is a baller. He has the type of attitude you want a player to have, doesn't get phased by the crowd or even the media etc, and just plays basketball. Plus, he plays with a chip on his shoulder which is great.

That said, he needs to shave his head, or go see LeBron's hair specialist, because his hair is way too distracting.

Agreed.

I still don't understand his hair. Never seen it before

That's why I said it's good for basketball, not the NBA bank account. I really couldn't care less about that. And I wouldn't even agree with it, as a Finals NYK team would absolutely be huge in both social and traditional media. It isn't even a "big market" thing. Just look at how few people give a crap about the Clippers and Nets still.

And MSG is basically the closest thing we got to a Wrigley/Fenway in basketball. That alone is hugely important in a league like this that has a pretty weak history.
