Guessing the elephant in the room in Phoenix is how ineffective Chris Paul has been in all 3 games against the Lakers - who barely got in the playoffs. There's also a huge size difference between the teams. The Lakers go with the biggest front court in basketball - Drummond, Anthony Davis, and LeBron. Meanwhile, Phoenix starts 6'5 Crowder at PF and 6'6 Bridges at SF. Crowder is a very tough defender - but asking him to cover either Davis or Drummond is a bit much. And Bridges is giving up probably 50 lbs to LeBron.

I for real think the era of Small Ball has peaked. Useful defensive Bigs are going to be a new arms race, along with true versatile/switchable long 3&D wingmen.

Too add to that...

The Suns need to run things for Ayton. He's been killing the Lakers off of the pick and roll, offensive putbacks, and broken plays.

When he has a matchup and is posting up, he's confused cause the offense runs through CP3 and DBook. I think Monty Williams needs to get the kid some touches early and let him go to work a little bit especially with the 3 ball not falling.

Monty Williams Is not using Jalen Smith at all. Is Sticks injured? He’s had a miserable rookie season.
Bye bye Beal.

In roughly the same way David West was on those 2 great Golden State Championship teams. Btw, how cool must that have been - ending his NBA career contributing to 2 NBA Championships? Let's see if he wants to make a comeback at age 41. 8-)

I'd love to find the next Serge Ibaka - a big who can play with a center and still be your best defender. That's why I'd give up a fortune for Jaren Jackson Jr and am intrigued by Kai Jones - hoping that he'll develop - though he's got a ways to go - and obviously wanted Mobley.

Gotta like the future for Melton and Bane on the Memphis team (players I was targeting along with JJJ) - Melton scored all of his 15 points in the 4th quarter - keeping them in the game, and the rookie Bane made all 3 of his FG attempts against an outstanding Utah team.

Saw these online about Brandon Clarke

I'll add that he also has regressed shooting wise. He was pretty decent at corner 3s last year, but this year his form looks worse and teams have no respect for it so whenever he is in the game, the spacing has just been putrid because defenders help off him a lot.

They gave him some run with JJJ at the 5 yesterday since the spacing would be better, the problem there is the defense/rebounding was pretty weak with those two and Clarke gave up 2 easy 3s to Royce O'Neal which led to his benching.

Dame just played the most amazing offensive game I have ever witnessed. "Clutch" doesn't even begin to describe it.

“Unreal” might be the best way to describe it.

I don't think we're ready for him yet. Maybe in 2-3 years, when he's 45. Yeah, that's it....

Durant will be a FA about then. Won't even be quite 40, admittedly, but he might be about ready all the same.

Denver beat Portland despite starting Rivers and Campazzo as their backcourt. Rivers played 40 minutes. No wonder Lillard isn't happy. 2 Denver backups had the best +/- on the team - Monte Morris and JaMychal Green. Those are relatively cheap types of players we don't have - Green as the physically tough gritty defensive-minded junkyard dog forward and Morris as a guard who can create instant offense off the bench.
