Curious if any of those who claimed it wasn't really an upgrade are still standing by that or if they are prepared to concede the obvious now?

I was big on it, however I would have been even bigger if they got a playmaking PG and played Jrue at the SG spot (I still do). The big upgrade for me was that Bledsoe plays a very similar offensive role to Giannis and the wall to stop Giannis would also stop Bledsoe. Jrue would give them a more diverse offensive game. I think DDV and Connaughton have played better than I thought but I still would like to see them use Jrue as an SG alongside a PG to make the offensive game even more diverse.

Even lineups where they used Augustin at PG and Jrue at SG were absolutely killing it on the minutes they had. I felt trading him was a bit of a mistake as he gave the offense a more diverse look. However, he would have been targeted defensively so I understand not keeping him. If Bucks paid a little more to get a two way PG then they would be unstoppable. Even if they kept Brogdon or maybe Hill they'd be unstoppable.

yikes that Ramona Shelbourne beartrap moment with Monty Williams. I appreciate what Monty said but that had to have been so awkward for her. Her editor probably told her she had to do a piece on Paul's playoff injuries and needs a quote from the coach.

Mentioning Ramona Shelbourne reminded me of something.

So, I’ve been listening to Brian Windhorst’s podcasts, and he typical calls reporters by their last names. Not my cup of tea, but if you often have Tim Bontemps and Tim McMahon, saying “Bontemps, what do you think of that?” might be more practical. That said, this is the way he refers to all people, even when they don’t share the same first name. Totally acceptable.

Well, here’s the thing. He doesn’t do it when he has a female guest on the show. For them it’s “Mina” or “Ramona.”

Now, it’s really not a big deal, but I wonder, is that polite? Or is it a little demeaning that he doesn’t treat female guests like he does the men? Politically incorrect?

I’m not smart in these areas, and I’m curious what the preferred choice should be, and I knew .. you RealGM people are the ones to ask for etiquette questions.

I find this interesting . I had assume it’s only polite to refer to females by their first name given that surnames tends to be generally masculine in nature .

I did a quick Google and found below to be an interesting read.

And when I think back we refer to artist much in the same way sometimes.
E.g Robert Downey Jr vs Scarlett Johansson .

Maybe the series would have been the same, but I would have loved to see the East's 3-6 and 4-5 games as Mil-NY and Atlanta-Miami.

The Knicks team just doesn't interest me, and Atlanta was a fascinating matchup with pretty much everyone else (Boston would have been interesting too).

Bright side is second round looks to be fascinating in the East.

Randle seemingly being overwhelmed by the moment I think makes New York much more interesting. But without him its Rose and a bit of Burks and a lot of pain offensively. But yeah this may be a 5 gamer and that was surely Boston's last hurrah so the 1st round in the East just a total dud with Miami not showing up.

No disrespect to Atlanta where Trae has been really good, but Philly sure feels like they have an easy path to the Finals. And I expect the Bucks to meet them there. Never been fully bought in to the Nets, though maybe I should be?

Boston fans will have the equivalent of RFA on starting that thread or it will be the equivalent of a UFA?

I get the Hawks are a easier path than the Nets or Bucks. That is a pretty common sense take. But the 76ers still have to beat the Celtics. Last seasons ECF team. Its tough as hell they lost Brown. I liked that series for coaching and strategy until that. Doc vs Stevens was interesting.

ISO ball is to easy to game plan for. Its why I think the Clippers vs Mavericks series is also a boring one. I am with Hartford; and think Atl vs Miami or the Celtics would have have been a good series also.

Back to ISO and Randle. The Knicks are not shooting from three at the same clip as the regular season. They pretty much buttered their bread on ISO and kick outs all season long. Without it they have no chance to be honest. In the three Knicks RS wins over the Hawks, they shot 50% from three. 50% from three is equal to 75% from the field in efficiency jargon. That is almost impossible to overcome; yet the Hawks were still in all three games ( 2 went to OT ).

The 76ers have all but owned Atl. Embiid is a brutal match up with his all world game. I think the only way the Hawks make it a series is if Hunter, Collins, and Bogdan can offset Harris and Simmons. Matching firepower with their depth is what Atl has to do.

Celtics are losing to the Nets, would take a conference finals for that to happen.

And yeah, the Hawks talent is not bad at all, and considerably above thye Knicks. I think Atlanta's best chance next round is if Trae goes electric; Philly historically haven't been great at guarding fast pg's. Capela and doubles on Embiid, and force Danny Green to beat you on kickouts. I think it will be a close series, with most games very close.

My bad on the Nets; its early so I am rambling. I think Trae gets his and its the others that have to show up. I hope its a good series but past games don't indicate it will be. Playoff basketball is a different animal so there is that.

What future picks would New Orleans need to add to Bledsoe/Adams for Hield/Bagley?

I'd like to see some Adams + (Filler) for Horford .. Adams is loved in Thunder, could be their veteran leader
Horford is old, but I am intrigued by his fit with Zion, on paper it looks great and I think you have to put, a good ring protector together Zion ..

Bledsoe for Hield seems fair ..
The Kings save 2 years of Buddy and something this year ..
Or 3 teams ...
Kuzma / Mckinnie / Gasol to Kings
Bledsoe / 2 seconds(NOP) to Lakers
Hield to NOP ...
I think Bledsoe, he fits in well in Lakers

Turner should absolutely be shopped, but Evan Massey is one of the absolute worst “insiders”. He doesn’t have access to anyone, or anywhere. He purports to be an NBA, NFL, NCAA, MLB, and racing insider. He has no idea how the NBA Cap rules work (previously said the Warriors were monitoring Kawhi’s free agency this offseason with interest in signing him……how?). He’s not affiliated with anyone. He doesn’t even get invited to the lowest levels of any local radio, or even podcasts. He’s absolutely the worst type of clickbait based writer selling his soul hoping to get an invite on a show, any show. In his write ups, every one of his citations only link back to his own tweets that he used to base that article off of. HE. IS. THE. WORST. Like, he should be banned from being cited here unless he proves a well researched future with fact based reporting that not only comes true, but wasn’t just an obvious write up to begin with.

I’m probably more connected to the Pacers than Evan Massey is, and I’ve only got tertiary, AT BEST, connections there

BUT….it’s also common sense. And the teams he listed as “interested” are also relatively common sense teams that reportedly need a long-term answer at center. So, fling enough spaghetti at the wall, and maybe something eventually sticks.

He’s loathed in Pacers Twitter land. He’s burned a lot of bridges in his attempts to chase clout and create clickbait. I don’t think he can get “press credentials” for anything Pacers related (or Colts related).
