Its been a long year for these guys going back to the bubble. Take a few weeks off, get your mind right and get back in the lab.

Herro - frankly stunk up the joint in the playoffs and has escaped criticism due to eyes on Bam, Jimmy, Spo, and Riley. He really needs to further develop his game over the summer.

Precious - he needs this summer as much as anybody, hopefully he comes back as more than just a rim runner.

KZ - still very raw and I imagine this is a pivotal summer in his development as well. If he cant become a consistent rotation player next year it might be a wrap.

But whatever we do, this can't be it. And marginal improvements won't get it done either.

Job #1 is trimming the dead weight on this roster.

Not exactly, some of the dead weight may be needed for salary filler packaged with lower priced contracts. I do expect a couple of trades this summer.

My offseason plan for the Heat

Decline options on Dragic, Dipo, Iggy, etc. to open up cap space.

Make a run a Kawhi.

If no Leonard sign Lowry 3 yrs: $54

Use the rest of the cap space to sign Bobby Portis 4 years: $36

Sign Dipo with the $4.9 exception

Resign Duncan: 4 years: $60

Sign Nunn: 4 year $40

Resign Ariza and Dedmond to Vet Min

Bam
Portis
Butler
Duncan
Lowry

Herro
Dedmond
Nunn
Ariza
Dipo
KZ
Precious
Struss
Etc


I think that team can compete. If Dipo get somewhat healthy then it raises the ceiling even more. If not, then use Herro and Precious at the deadline to find another high level starter.

I hate to break it to you but we don't have enough space to sign Kawhi even if we decline every option and renounce every free agent we have. Kawhi's max starting salary is ~ $39 million. Even if we trade Herro, Precious, and KZ for nothing, and keep only Jimmy and Bam, we still don't have the space to sign him as a free agent unless he takes a significant discount.

Not seeing how that trade benefits the Heat. I can see how it benefits you as a Butler fan though.
