But I think him no longer being asked to be the #2 guy would be huge.

I’ve said it a few times this year, but a JJJ/Ingram swap this summer would be very interesting. A wing scorer and true #2 scorer like Ingram to go along with Ja would be very interesting to see.

Ingram is far superior

Memphis is loaded with good rotation players to throw in to make it even.

The constant in this series is that the Jazz have always gotten out to a big lead, but the Grizzlies fight back no matter what.

Tonight the Jazz lost their Conley+Gobert vs bench minutes. That’s usually the best time of the game for the Jazz but the Grizzlies still found a way to make a run.

Surprised the Jazz (or Snyder to be specific) continue to let Morant hide on D in the corner on guys like Royce.

You gotta wear him out a bit, make him defend on drives, put him in pick and rolls, hit him with a screens.

It's no wonder he is coming down and getting lots of stuff on the offensive end.

Quin is a no adjustment coach, and his team is up 2-1 so I’m not expecting any changes....but I would consider altering Rudy’s minutes to match Favors.

Gobert has played in 3 stints all year and it has worked really well, but Favors is getting absolutely worked out there and it makes it more difficult to play Rudy extended minutes with the shorter stints. If Rudy needs to play extended minutes (like tonight) he ends up playing 15+ minutes straight to end the half.

Ja is shooting 44% from the field with Gobert on the court and 68% (!!!) when Favors is on the court. At the very least, Quin needs to change the defense. He can’t expect Favors to play the same role as Gobert. We’ve seen him get fried all year and the playoffs haven’t been any different.

There may be some value in trying to wear out Ja...but I have a feeling he and the rest of the Grizzlies won’t wear down.

For me it’s not worth it for the Jazz to break up their offensive rhythm. The Jazz have gotten much better at facing switching defenses and they’ve done so by not hunting mismatches. Instead, they keep their offense going and trust their ball movement to find them a good shot when the defense is scrambled.

The Jazz offense is frying this Grizzlies defense which was really good during the regular season. They should keep doing what they’ve been doing.

Canadians are nice. Brooks didn't get the memo.

More people need to see this play.

The difference in this series could be whether or not the refs pay attention to all of Brooks’ off-ball bumping, shoving, pushing, and all-around BS.

I admire how hard he plays, but garbage like this is the difference between a scrappy guy who becomes a good player in this league and a trash dirty player who gets no respect from the real ballers.

If he keeps acting like this, he’ll quickly be untouchable.

If that’s how Brooks punches he better not act like he can win a real fight. I don’t think we have anything to worry about here

Boy that is not what I took away from this game. Wouldn't be surprised if Memphis blows out Utah in Game 4 and then all the pressure will be on Utah in Game 5. I have a hunch this series will end like it started. With a Memphis win.

Yeah it's the typical bread and butter for coaches when they want the other team's best player to be gassed. There were instances when they found Bojan switched on Ja and he converted on his attempts.

But then again as stated by others, Jazz heavily relies on ball movement to hunt open shots, not really mismatches

It was supposed to be a 3-way trade: Ariza to Washington, Austin Rivers and Brooks to Phoenix, and Kelly Oubre to Memphis.

Then Phoenix started cheering, "yay, we got Dillon Brooks!"
And Memphis said "uh, no you didn't, you got MARSHON Brooks."
Phoenix: "No, we got Dillon Brooks."
Memphis: "No, you got Marshon Brooks."
Phoenix: "We're not trading Ariza for Marshon Brooks. You said Dillon."
Memphis: "Well we're not trading Dillon Brooks for Oubre. You can have Marshon."
Phoenix, Memphis and Washington: "WTF"
Everyone outside Phoenix, Memphis and Washington: "LOL"

But yes, I'm sure Memphis is currently glad they still have Dillon!

Morant is going to need another 2 seasons still to learn how to manage a game as the PG. Memphis makes a ton of mistakes, poor shot selection.

In the best case, most generous interpretation, it is just another example of Brooks doing a lot of off-ball shoving and pushing. He does it really smartly and effectively most of the time, but it’s illegal. Good officiating will foul him out 80% of the time.

Meh we has trying to sell a backdoor cut, not punch Conley. Probably gets called in Utah, not in a high stakes playoff game on your homecourt in the clutch.

I think the Jazz are going to let Morant get his and shut off Memphis' other scoring options. They don't think Memphis can score enough to beat the Jazz, even if Morant goes for 30 pts.

Those are legit All Star numbers. His ability to control the game and read Memphis' defense has been tremendous. He's also hitting 50% on his 3s for the series and hit 10 for 15 in the Jazz's two wins. Having Mitchell back has taken some of the defensive pressure off of Mike, and he's been thriving.

While we're at it, Gobert is averaging 16/14/3.7b on 87% shooting.

As tough and physical as Memphis is, they haven't really taken anything away from the Jazz.

Memphis crowd makes me jealous. There was a time when the Jazz had a great home crowd, but transplants and expensive ticket prices has turned the place into a library

Jazz currently have a spread of 5.5 points for today's game.
Lets see if Mitchell is ready to start going off for 35+ ppg. His minutes should be increasing.
