Mine too. Also, and I don't care if I get laughed at, but I'm a sucker for dance movies and the remake of Footloose is great and Teller is solid in it, playing the old Chris Penn role (RIP).

In the last 10 years, I see Wilson, Cousins (debatable), Prescott, Watson, Jackson. That's 5 or so out of 80.

Second, my buddy that does independent scouting and guest on a couple of local shows and publications was also very high on him. And I'd have to find the exact quote, but essentially he had him right up there with all the top guys this year, major fan of his arm talent and thinks he was more of a victim of circumstance that last year at Utah State; new head coach/OC, no NFL talent on the field him on offense, tons of turnover, etc. I am of the belief if you just switched Tua and him for one season, he would have been the top 5 pick and Tua was probably not a first rounder.

Third, his arm talent is real, lots of different arm slots, velocities and strengths. Seems like he will have the ability to throw on the move going both left and right, which is good for MLF offense. I think he was trying to expand his game that last season, or at least that is what I read a lot about. Like a ton of scouts, him landing somewhere with two years to develop before he had to play to get coached up was the best case scenario. I think he had a lot of sloppiness that needs to be corrected and I think that hurt his draft stock, rightfully so.

So when I factor all that in, plus seems to have a good work ethic as far as I can tell, I like our chances, even though the idea of stacking back to back to back QBs is probably unheard of, I think we found a guy that was a bit of a victim of circumstance, needed to be coached up but has the talent, and HOPEFULLY head to make it.

And in case I was unclear, I think if things broke differently for him, he would have been a top ten pick.

Sorry - didn't want to ignore this. I agree that his arm talent is superb (just based on the general consensus, really), but his field vision is regarded as weaker. And I don't know that that is easy to develop - the NFL is littered with failed careers of insane arm talents who couldn't see the game. We'll see what happens, but he seems to be missing the hardest thing to develop.

It's a huge and unnecessary gamble to commit to this direction right now.

Whats really incredible is that on the night of the draft 95% of Packers fans hated the Jordan Love pick for two obvious reasons. 1. Impact-wise, a superstar QB is the closest equivalent to a superstar in the NBA.

I don't care if he's a complete POS and ransomwared the team. He represents our best shot to win a SB in the near future before that window most likely closes for a long time.

That trumps principle, order, and any other meaningless values. So if that means firing a good GM/okay President (who are replaceable), then that is what should be done.

I would say the going to Love has will or will not be 100% decided by Rodgers. I think the team was ready to let Love marinate for a few years. I just don’t blame them at this point, I think they did what they could to try and fix it within reason. A player demanding a successful GM being fired in order to return is nuts IMO.

A little tidbit from a MJS article on camp from a couple of days ago:

.....Preston Smith also showed he was motivated for a rebound upon reporting to organized team activities.

A year ago, before his production declined, outside linebacker Preston Smith reported to training camp noticeably bulkier than the previous season. He has trimmed weight this offseason.

“I think he looks a lot leaner than he did coming into last training camp,” Mike Smith said.

Love likely struggles in the beginning. Love might fail. But I happen to think that the combo of LaFleur & Love will lead to continued success. :dontknow:

We'll know who's right in 3-6 years.

LaFleur said it was encouraging to see Bakhtiari on the practice field, but noted it was too early to tell whether he will be ready for the start of the season.

"He’s really working hard," LaFleur said. "I think he came back and he’s in excellent shape. We’re just going to take it one day at a time, and I think he’s a little bit ahead of schedule. Then again, there’s a long way until the start of the season, and we’ll see where he’s at when it comes to that time."
